they did for Chase this Light with the demos, when "Be Sensible" was the first track. then they scrapped that song altogether to the B sides. #sad

it’s incredibly close between futures and bleed American for me.

 

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK now I have Table for Glasses on and it’s currently sounding like the greatest song ever.

 

What?!!! That riff is a banger!!!

 

On a related note - since I absolutely love the riff - I'm a big fan of they started the song in the stream last month, just the riff as an intro before Zach counts everyone in.

My pick for favourite Jimmy opener is Table For Glasses with Bleed American a relatively distant second.

 

The opening riff to Futures is a top five moment in Jimmy Eat World's discography.

 

I think Bleed American is probably my favourite opener of theirs but I don't think any of them are among their best songs.

They're way better at closers.

I think we can all agree that this band has openers and closers pretty figured out. Kinda ironic they're mostly famous for The Middle.

just doesn’t do it for me, idk. I very much enjoy every other part of that song, but something about that riff feels borderline corny to me.

 

Along with Sweetness, this was one of the first JEW songs I heard. I think it's because either me or a friend just grabbed whatever we could find on Napstser or Kazaa at the time. Then went back in time and found Clarity and the rest is history
