I know some people who have cabins in extremely cold areas who do it if they’re just gona leave for a week or so (easier to have water dripping in the sink than crawling under a cabin to turn the water off and on). It doesn’t waste too much water if it’s just a drip, and I don’t think it’s actually the water moving that’s keeping it from freezing. Something about having the tap open keeps the pressure right or some shit.

definitely a smart move. hopefully will work out.

also got me thinking about what Biden will do about weed. Will he get in the way if dems try and do something? Quietly pull strings so dems don't try and do something? Let legalization happen but not push it? Make an effort to make it happen? Get the feeling whatever the answer is its gonna be a disappointment. But maybe if "doing things the majority of the country want" works out well for him and he gets through the higher priority stuff we can actually see something towards the end of the year.

Funny how Texas is the only state hurting this hard, you’d think all the green energy sources in every other state would be fucking up too hmm

Bill's actually right here. Rise implies an increase. What we've seen has been less an increase and more just an unmasking of what's already there.

Rise just means move from a loser position to a higher one. Doesn’t need to imply volume, but it’s also a very silly semantic argument.

Yeah definitely, I'm also in west Texas which is more prepared relatively for winter weather so hoping my pipes are nice and buried.

Still have hot water so happy about that.

Every time I hear Joe Biden say he doesn’t want to relieve debt for those that go to private school, it’s just utterly stupid. Debt is debt.

I go to private school. I/my family is not wealthy and neither are most of my classmates. I chose the school that I thought would give me the best education while still affordable, which happened to be private.

Yes, Biden is dying soon. But Harris or Buttigieg or Ossoff also won’t clear the debt in the future. So you have to ask, what can we do that forces them to deal with this issue? What will they actually respond to?

Provide unprecedented financial support in the midst of a global pandemic and economic crisis and enjoy the legacy that comes with that, off the back of work done by Schumer and Warren, or keep people in debt. Joe Biden thinks its more important that you're in debt.

In reaction to this shocking turn of events I’ve seen some people say Trump and Biden are the same and it’s just not true! Biden makes me want to kill myself with a D next to his name. Trump made me want to kill myself with an R next to his name. Big difference

Biden is gonna milk this “I’ll sign the paper to cancel 10k” until his term ends and never do it.

Good lord. The only reason why I'm paying an absurd amount of money to go to an "elite private school" right now is because most funded grad programs didn't look twice at my super cheap public school background (and not just me, an equally, if not more, qualified woman I graduated with could only get a doctoral offer at the public school we both graduated from). Still ended up saving myself like $200k of loans by waiting for master's to go to private school. And it's not like I'll be making more than like $25k a year after I graduated into a doctoral program.

Plus, the $10k vs $50k being public vs. private is a complete lie. I know plenty of people pay close to $30k a year for public universities and are well over $50k in debt. The real public vs. private divide would be between cancelling $50k and, say, $200k of debt.
