What made you choose an S Club record out of interest? I never really imagined they had much of a fan base / popularity outside of the UK.

started listening to Iggy & The Stooges Raw Power and holy shit that production is some of the worst I have ever heard, so hard to listen to. Talked to my friend who is a big Iggy & Bowie fan, told me to listen to the Iggy Mix instead of Bowie, so I'll give that a try soon enough

@Meerkat has been after me to listen to them for years and she’s a friend, so I figured it was time.

they’re a top 3 band ever for me and bowie is my fave musician ever. he butchered it lol. he said he didn’t know what he was doing so he just moved sliders around. it’s bad. the iggy mix is more glossy, which admittedly does take away from a bit of the raw power, but it’s more listenable

To add to Chris' answer, they were the first music I remember discovering on my own. Especially on the first record, all the music had so much energy and then they had the TV show and I really latched onto the idea of "find a group of friends and start a band together" so S Club 7 is, oddly enough, one of the most influential artists in my life. And so Chris is a good friend and gave it a shot

I’m definitely still open to listening to Easter Everywhere. I know both albums have really devoted fanbases

I should be doing Straight Outta Compton today and Anthrax tomorrow, but my daughter and wife both have birthdays this weekend so I think I'll be catching up with them on Monday.

Y'know it's funny that after all these years of the supposed dominance of poptimism, people would still bug out at the idea that someone would check out an S Club 7 record. Still sitting weird with me today.

I'll legit check out anything. What do you have to lose? Maybe it'll be good.

Last year, my list was a bunch records from the early 2000s (most of them of little repute) that I remembered reading about or hearing pieces of when I was first getting into music. I didn't have the money back then to hear everything I wanted to hear, and some of those records went overlooked for me for years as a result. Going back to them was fun, even if they weren't classics.

How did I miss the S Club discussion?!? An extremely underrated band.

Anyway, doing catch up today with Otis Redding's "The Dock of the Bay," following that up with today's pick: "Lost Forever//Lost Together" by Architects. I'm actually looking forward to how vastly different both artists are, hah.

Midnite Vultures owns, Beck's one of those people where it's hard because Odelay is so perfect I find it hard to venture out but this is just as weird and fun and sometimes more

Had my intro to kpop today. Real fun to listen to. Hard to imagine this not working for a lot of the Chorus crowd.
