Sounds like Ali outsmarted HBO and declined. Good. Let him devote his time to Blade and following MCU films.

I love Pedro but he already has a big series to star in. He’ll be great in the role though.

Solid choice. I don’t see him being Joel for long, though. Assuming season 1 is the first game. He’d be done with the show by episode 2 of the second season.

How does anyone still give a fuck about "zombie" apocalypse media

How the fuck does anyone still care about Star Wars, rom coms, buddy comedies, prank shows, superhero movies, Mario games, or any other specific genre of media?

Everything is oversaturated. People like what they like. It's entertainment.

Almost all of those are either not directly comparable or also things I am sick of lol

They are all completely comparable. Zombie movies are a genre/type of movie/game. So is Mario, rom com, vampires, racing, or absolutely anything that is a genre or subject of a piece of media. You just don't like zombies and that's fine, but it is 100% a 1:1 comparison.

The real issue is them just milking a franchise that should have been a one off.

on top of the zombie apocalypse fatigue you might consider that it IS a bit of a shallow genre comparatively to begin with

I really don't think so. Not any more than something like superheroes.

I said "or subject of media", but I am very aware of your inability to read or process information.

A lot later than I was hoping to be honest.

That release date is shocking. That sucks. They made it seem like it would be coming out in the launch window. The most generous definition of that time period is the end of March.

I don't really know what launch window means. I would honestly think first year, but thats me. That said, better that this game comes out in June and polished than March and unpolished. Don't have any issue with the date

100%. This is a big release for Sony. June isn't too bad.

I don't understand why simply saying one is disappointed in a later-than-expected release date is always taken to mean that one wants the game out rushed and unfinished. I never said I want the game out before it's ready. It's just that, based on everything they said about the game last year, they gave the impression that it was closer to being done than we thought. If that's not the case, then of course that's fine, they need to take as long as they need to make sure it's great. It's just not what I was hoping for. Christ.

Mario is a series and the reason people still like it is because its main characteristic is its gameplay which is still very good. It's incomparable to a genre or whatever you want to call zombie apocalypse media.

Also the superhero genre or whatever you want to call it overall is more flexible, whereas most mainstream zombie shit is all very similar. That being said I also think a lot of people might be getting sick of superheroes too, no? I definitely haven't felt like watching a superhero movie in years.

I think people have more of a negative perception of zombie media rather than zombie media itself being tired or unoriginal. Stuff like The Last Of Us 1, Train To Busan, The Santa Clara Diet and iZombie for instance are all good instances of zombie and zombie like infections being done well and utilized in a way that isn't repetitive.

I think (current) Mario is overrated and I'm personally more excited for something like Mario + Rabbids 2 than the 3D World resell. I would really love them to do a new art style for the characters and the worlds.
