I get the comedic aspect of it, but Tom was awfulllllllll live.

  2. The Tom they miss doesn’t exist anymore. I honestly don’t get what they see in modern Tom.

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

He still exists. He was funny and joked around a lot on the 2019 Angels & Airwaves tour. Seemed like his old self.

Yup. Honestly there's not a huge difference between pre-2003 and current Tom to me. He's always been an idiot onstage and he's never been a great live vocalist.

Honestly I never went to a blink show thinking I was going to hear a good musical performance. I just wanted to have fun and be entertained for the less than hour and twenty minutes they played, which they did even when Tom was half assing it.

not really sure how this works or how to post on the forum so I'm just replying cuz that's the only way I know how somebody needs to help Tom he has a mullet and yellow hair what year is this or is he just trying to be like boomer I don't know why anybody doesn't tell the poor guy how pitiful he looks walking around half naked does not distract from the yellow mullet

I’m a firm believer that things were going on in Tom’s personal life and business life that were keeping his mind elsewhere. On the AvA tour in 2019 it was the best I’ve ever saw him live. He hit the high notes in “Heaven” without an issue. His humor and banter was great too. One day he’ll regroup with Mark and Travis and maybe with all of the personal stresses behind him he can really have fun again. That being said I don’t miss the Tom is saw on the last two Blink tours I saw with him.

I vote we start banning the Tom simps from this thread.

Discovered the band with Mark on vocals when Dammit was released. Mark’s produced and made guest appearances with other bands I like. He also has always seemed more likely to pop up in other things I like more (like The Other “F” Word). Always seemed like normal relatable member(if there can be such a thing) in Blink to me, and I think I am a Mark guy as a result.

Doesn’t take away from the talent and contributions of Travis, Matt, or Tom (or Scott). It’s nice to have some distinct other personalities in the band and it adds something that made them stand out as a band (musically and image wise).

When I saw them in '16 All The Small Things and First Date were actually enjoyable, so I'll take that over forced banter about dicks

I think people underestimate just how much of a hero figure Tom is/was to kids of a certain generation

They’ve never been “great live” but they were, including Tom, very solid until around 2001. Still wondering what the hell happened to his live vocals around then.

He was one of mine, but then I grew up. It’s sucks to see a hero fall and be washed up, but it happened. Time for people to move on already.

Really shows when you contrast it to his vocals on his other projects

Watching Tom at Soundwave 2013 was the biggest letdown I've ever had in terms of live music. It took him about 15 songs to actually sound passable.
