I watched the first episode last night and it had me cracking up. But it sounds like I should keep my expectations low after season 3 lol

Rewatching Community as my mindless show right now. I don't remember them making so many gay jokes.

We started watching community since my gf wanted to. The first season is definitely not as good as I remember and my god Ken Jeong annoying as fuck.

  5. Schitt's Creek, The Office, Impractical Jokers, and Seinfeld are the ones that we put on if we just want some background noise while we cook and whatnot. But lately, it's been Taskmaster UK.

I couldn’t get through the first season of Modern Family. I think it’s 24 episodes or something and by episode 8 I felt like I had been watching for years. Each episode seemed incredibly long for some reason. Just not my jam even though I like pretty much the entire cast. Just couldn’t get into it.

Ah, Impractical Jokers. I could watch 10 episodes of that a day

That's the one thing that really bothers me about the show. Should have known better by then. Always jarring in older shows- heck, I'm watching Futurama again right now and even they have some I didn't remember.

Yeah my re-watch of Community did have it's fair share of "showing it's age" but at least 90% of the bad taste jokes were made by Pierce, who purposefully is shown as a bad person making bad jokes, the audience is supposed to realize they are in bad taste because they come from him. That being said, the show easily could have been made without them.

I remember in an interview that the writers disliked him so much that half of Pierce's "jokes" were just ridiculous, offensive things that Chevy said on set and he didn't even notice that they were literally just quoting him lol

Yeah I've read a lot of behind the scenes stuff about how Pierce was essentially Chevy, and how so much of it led to his firing/quitting. Chevy was angered that Pierce was such a bad guy, but Pierce was being written based of Chevy, so he was really just pissed that Pierce was becoming him, ya know? Anyway, despite all the behind the scenes stuff, Pierce is truly the worst of the characters.

Yeah, Chevy ultimately quit during the Advanced Documentary Filmmaking episode of season 4. You can hear Joel talk about it in the commentary for that episode. Chevy’s only bit during the episode was Pierce doing racial stereotypes with hand puppets and he got pissed about it. That’s when he said “Next thing you know, you’ll be making me say -“ and that’s when he used the n-word on set and his relationship with the show came to an end (save for the hologram Dan Harmon brought him back for in the season 5 premiere).

Same. It was sold out before I had the chance to grab a ticket. Probably my most anticipated of what I didn't catch at Sundance.

Nancy Drew is quite a bit scarier than I was anticipating. Like legit scares in parts surprised they got some to fly in primetime tv.

In & Of Itself on Hulu is really something. Magician/storyteller that did a bunch of shows in NY.

I feel like I was led astray by you guys with Vast of Night, I found it pretty damn slow and uneventful. Some interesting-ish dialogue didn't save the movie for me, kept hoping it would build up to something and then the payoff was... expected and predictable.

Yeah tbh I liked TVoN, but it wasn’t as good as I had hoped. The main tracking shot was cool tho.
