Anytime. You'll want to make sure you have a timemachine backup to an external drive before you start. That way when you boot up for the first time, you can start a timemachine recovery and pick up right where you left off on your old HDD. Unless you're wanting to start fresh, that is.

Yeah I don't mind starting fresh whatsoever. How would I reinstall the OS though?

you can download the OS from the App Store to a USB drive and boot from that the first time you start up your computer I believe. After you download the file, don't actually go through with the install process, but drag and drop the file from the folder is was saved under (Applications folder I believe is the default location) to the USB stick. You'll need at least an 8gb stick I think.

I just watched a tutorial online where you can hit CMD+R and it will do a wifi-based recovery and will install an OS for you. Apple is so freakin cool. Thanks alot brother I think i've gained to confidence to do this now haha.

I'm probably missing something simple, but recently I got a new 6S and ever since I got it, I haven't been able to click on notifications in the notifications pull down menu. For example. If i have a snapchat and I pull down the notifications menu from the top, I can't click on the Snapchat notification and have it take me to the app. Definitely used to be able to do this, but I haven't been able to find a setting for this. Any help?

    Someday I’ll find me Prestigious

I've been contemplating a shift over to Droid having been on the iPhone since the launch of the 4S.

This video has reminded me why I've never made the jump (I'm also tied into the Apple ecosystem pretty deep).

Looks like I'll be upgrading my 6 Plus to the 7 next month.

  13. Don't you have to slide from the left to the right on the notification to open it from the lock screen?

Yeah you do on the lock screen. But I feel like I have always been able to just click a notification from the pull down menu if my phone was already unlocked and have it take me to that app. Unless maybe I'm going crazy and completely misremembering haha

  15. Works for me that way if I'm unlocked.

Hmm, yeah I can't figure out how to get that to work. If I'm unlocked I can still swipe a notification to see actions associated with it, but if I just tap on it nothing happens. Can't seem to find anything about it in the settings or online.

  17. Which app? All of them? Try rebooting?

It was for any app. Was just about to edit my post because I tried a hard reset and that seems to have fixed the problem. Dunno why I didn't try that before since that's usually my go-to move to fix anything iPhone related.

I think I read in the last day or two that 6S and 6S+ users have been noticing screen issues. I could be wrong though.

  20. Apple Music Exclusives
Contrary to what you read, there’s no scary Apple board room conspiracy where corporate is plotting to take over creativity via artist exclusives. There’s one guy who is behind ALL of these campaigns — and he is light years ahead of everyone else. He works intimately with each artist as a creative peer, and develops an amazing plan, this is no simple land grab. He works closer with the artists than labels do.
    Someone get me that job.

  22. Dang. I'm glad I made the switch to iPhone with the 5s. Now on the 6s. I loved the switch so much that I got a MacBook and an iPad. Apple fanboy right now
