Does the lock screen on the iPhone require you to hit the home button to hit passcode screen? It's been driving me nuts on the Air 1, and I haven't updated my phone yet.

Yes. Drives me nuts. Especially when I'm working out and I go to unlock my phone to enter my weight/reps/sets for each lift and there's sweat on my thumb so it won't unlock, and then I'll tap the button and it still won't unlock sometimes.

You can turn on the ability to rest your finger on the button, instead of having to physically press it.

Nice! Are there any other major apps utilizing dark mode?

Forgive my ignorance, I'm new to dark mode.

Hey guys, i'm looking for some legitimate software that will speed up my late 2011 macbook pro. I don't mind spending a few bucks. Thanks if anyone can help!

    Regular

You should be able to but if anything you can find them cheap on eBay. I've bought from this seller twice and both times they were authentic (there's plenty of fake ones out there marked as authentic but just open a case and you'll get a full refund if it happens).

I don't know about software, MacOS/OSX is pretty good about self-cleaning and efficient. A new SSD and maxing out your RAM will make a world of difference though. It's pretty easy to do yourself. A couple of screws, removing the HDD and RAM, putting in the new HDD/RAM, and restoring your timemachine backup.

Okay thank you, what would be the best way to go about purchasing an SSD and RAM?

They have really good install videos on how to do it. Upgrading the ram will make a difference, but I think moving to an SSD, if you aren't already on one, is one of the best ways to actually feel the speed.

A bit. If you had to choose between the two I'd probably go with an SSD to be honest. The article I linked to has instructional videos at the bottom and then Jason's link above as them too. If I remember right on my old '10 macbook pro, the tab for the release on the RAM can be a bit finicky. But other than that, yeah, just a few screws, pop them out, pop the new ones back in, screw the bottom plate back up, and boot up.

    Okay cool.

I was going to get this for the RAM https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008LTBJK2/?tag=absolutepunk-20

Are the SSD's pretty much universal to all macbook models? Or do I have to find the ones compatible with a late 2011 macbook pro?

  25. Pretty sure they're specific, but I don't know to be honest... I just bought from OWC when I upgraded Hannah's computer. They break it down by the model and year.

Crucial has really good ratings from what I remember.
