I'm having the hardest time deciphering whether Toronto's actually good this year, or if all these other Canadian teams are kinda meh

I'm confused with why it is a problem if no one from outside is involved. These guys sweat all over each other on the bench for 2.5 hours a night.

 

Yeah, this seems extreme if it was literally just teammates hanging out. If there was others involved obviously that’s a huge issue

 

Tbh, I appreciate the strictness of it. Yeah, they are out on the ice together for 2.5 hours, but they are also surely around staff and what not after the games, etc. And you have to set a precedence so that this doesn't translate into even more relaxed attitudes the longer the season goes on.

It's better to be safe than sorry or you end up with a situation like what the NBA is currently in, of cancelling games on a nightly basis.

i guess i never thought of it as the players literally just each sitting in their own hotel room until the next practice / game. that seems... very odd as a visual and wild to enforce lol. do they have a hall monitor that saw them all leaving the same room, or when doing room checks saw players missing from their rooms? i'm imagining them playing games / having practice and then just going back and being isolated (aside from calls / FaceTime / zoom / whatever) for 8-10 hours until the next game or practice for months on end and that just seems so bizarre and Black Mirror-like.

I don't want to overreact, but I truly can't wait until ~15 years from now when every single player on this roster has retired.

I don’t know if we publicly have all of the protocols that were agreed to, but I’d venture to guess this could have been a moot point if they were just wearing masks, or hanging out in designated hangout areas, where masks would be a requirement.
