For all we know he is waving to other cops behind the crowd to move forward or something like that. It would not surprise me at all it was the case that he was encouraging the crowd, but this is a very limited frame and I wouldn't draw conclusions from it.

They use this dipshit argument so much, but it bothers me every time. Free speech means congress can't pass a law against saying something, not that a business can't cancel ur lil book when you support terrorists.

 

I get that part, but why is everyone saying it NOW?

 

He's literally pushing for the opposite of free speech: the ability for the government to force what a private business can or cannot say

 

I truly don't understand how these people have advanced degrees from Ivy League institutions. Literally no one is preventing Hawley from publishing his work. If he really wanted to, he could self-publish the whole stupid book on Amazon right now. No one would bat an eye and, if they did, he would still have tons of other avenues for publication. Bizarrely, demand that a well-respected publisher publish his book, potentially risking their reputation and future profit, seems to violate both the law and every free market ideology that the Right worships. The only thing remotely Orwellian here is a government official attempting to use his power to force a publisher to give him a platform when they've used their own rights to refuse it
