I saw that too... maybe Blinkumentary just gave them all their raw footage after revealing that they weren't going to produce an actual documentary

Also wondered why all the blink footage was from 2003-2004

  2. What footage from it would have been from the Blinkumentary? Just the live footage, I'm assuming?

Yeah - live stuff from post-reunion. All pre-reunion footage was from 2003-04

The director is the blinkumentary is also coincidentally the director of the Tom DeLonge episode... Probably why it was used.

I've always been curious about the amounts of live footage they have from 03-04. I'd pay good money for a live DVD of a show from that era.

A bit weird to me that Tom rails hard against record labels in that doc but one of the most recent holdups with him and blink was his insistence on having a record label, according to Mark and Travis, if I remember correctly.

Or maybe he wanted it to be released through ...To The Stars?

Yeah, he's wanted them to be independent for a long while and back when the second break up happened he claimed he never wanted that record deal, so I don't know what Mark and Travis were talking about.

Seven years ago today was my first concert: blink-182. Can't wait to see them for the third and fourth times in two weeks!

That was when they released DED, then once they started talking about making a new album he was the one pushing the others that they needed a label.

And then he rags on them for getting a producer lol

Yeah very strange and makes it extremely hard to believe anything he says relating to blink, especially post break ups. He just gets caught in so many, I don't want to say lies so I will say inconsistencies.

Remember the day Mark and Travis announced he was kicked out of the band with Skiba replacing him because he didn't want to play in Travis' Musink festival and backed out of recording etc yet Tom claimed to be on the phone putting together a Blink show in NY? And Travis called him out on it.

There were numerous articles during the Untitled 10 year anniversary tour in 2013 with quotes from all 3 members of Blink saying they were interviewing record labels and hope to sign with one shortly so they can start to record a new album.

In one of Tom's long facebook rants last year he says he didn't want to sign to a label ever again.

  14. I finally got around to watching the documentary and after I was done watching it I honestly see Tom in a different light. He's really far more interesting than Mark and Travis, and I feel like he really didn't come off as a dick in the documentary. The dude is just passionate when it comes to his work and wants to open his mind, My favorite part was when he talked about " DumpWeed ". You can say what you want about the guy but he really is a true artist.

Again Tom has a long history of contradicting himself, the last question:

Q&A: Blink-182 on Their Next Album and Keeping Their Toilet Humor - Rolling Stone

And of course there was this interview with Mark and Travis talking about how it was Tom's idea for a label:

Blink-182 Blast 'Ungrateful, Disingenuous' Tom DeLonge

Not sure why either Mark or Travis would lie about something like that. I did read a few other articles around that time in 2013 with the band talking about interviewing labels to see who would be a good match.

Bottom line was he signed the record deal with a label before he quit the band again days later. I guess one can argue he changed his mind but I don't know like I said he has a history of inconsistencies like this. Its hard to take what he says about leaving/quitting blink at face value ever.

Yeah completely agree Tom is more interesting. Mark seems like a regular guy and Travis is seen as still the quiet shy one. If I was sitting on a plane for hours with nothing to do but talk to one of them Tom would be the guy to help pass time. If I wanted to be friends with one of them then Mark would be the one.

The local and biggest radio show in town has been playing She Out Of Her Mind on its promo ads

The same one though where the host bags BTD when they play it every morning "it certainly did bore me to death"

Yup, it's very interesting. He must have changed his mind in the last 3 years, and some things got lost in translation. Hopefully one day we'll know the full story.

I think Tom and Mark are both interesting dudes in their own right. i think either one would be a riot to Hang out with. Travis is the friend you keep close that don't talk much.

I honestly don't think I could take more than ten minutes straight of Tom talking about anything that isn't blink before I started rolling my eyes.

Remember he said he was on the phone talking with Mark about kicking Travis out? Seems so weird and untrue

I really liked Tom doc. I want a 20 hour doc where he just sits and explains the origin of every blink song haha.

I think that was explained as they were considering a fill in drummer for an Australian tour because Travis can't fly and Tom twisted it into "kicking him out".

For some reason can't find the documentary on YouTube. Anyone have a link they could share?

I agree I think it's weird that's why I have a hard time taking anything he says about Blink at face value because he's so back and forth with things. He never gives a straight answer.

Yeah but wouldn't it be fun to have Tom tell you all about aliens and space and then just look him straight in the eyes and say "nah they're all made up by Hollywood to make movies, they're not real" and just mess with him? Similar to what Mark said in the UC2 movie.
