I kinda respect their choice for Eternal Atake at #1

 

Eternal Atake has been weirdly forgotten and/or underrated. One of the year’s best and most enduring records. And as a front-to-back project, a new high for Uzi’s creative vision. Absolutely wild to me that the Lil Baby record has been popping up more frequently.

 

It was released the Friday the world shut down, which feels like an eternity ago. I can see it getting lost because of that

 

Yeah, that’s basically what I’ve been thinking. Plus no big single to prolong its place in the public consciousness.

 

Love this time of year - look at all the lists and may a spotify playlist of all the records I missed. Currently have 24 hours of music to listen to lol

 

Best of 2020: The Year’s Essential Releases

 

this album is seriously one of the best late year discoveries. Have not stopped playing it and can not get over it lol. Reminds me a ton of majetic/CARE.

 

eternal atake is admittedly the only hip hop album this year that held my attention aside from maybe Polo G, but even then, i didnt find my self revisting the goat months on end.

 

(Speaking of hip hop, we're doing an aggregate top 10 in the hip hop thread if anyone missed that and wants to drop a list in there.)

I’m on track four of this rn and can’t tell if it’s incredibly engaging or incredibly exhausting.

The album list is great, although the number one spot is kinda predictable for him. Understandable, though.

 

I do the same. It's simultaneously overwhelming but incredible. I don't do albums though, just a track or two in order to get a taste and then decide to dive in further from there.

This is the first time I have seen The Winter Passing anywhere outside of my own Spotify basically. That's pretty cool. Maybe they blew up and I missed it though.
