yeah but you’re in the services right? I would think/hope that the military would be taking care of their own vaccinations, if not that’s a huge mistake haha

 

Yeah, we were offered the vaccine before we took off work for the last two weeks but haven't gotten it yet, likely will when I get back to work on Monday. MilTwitter was big over this about if leaders should get it to show lower enlisted it's safe/trust it... been an interesting thread of tweets over it.

My wife doesn't want me to get it yet. We're not anti-vaxxers in the least bit, but she just wants to see if any side effects occur from some co-workers who got it already.

 

It might be a good idea to show her some of the data from the studies released and such to calm her down. Vaccine reactions usually happen fast (hence the people with allergic reactions getting it within minutes), and if stuff hasn't happened to these people in the first month or two then there's no reason to expect any big new developments in side effects at this point.

I think the big exception may be that we still need to see how it may interact with certain diseases in people from what I've read, but they don't expect anything any different from other vaccines in that regard, i.e. certain immunocompromised folks probably can't get it

Yes. A lot of cities are capping fees on delivery services right now during the pandemic because of how high the fees are and little the local restaurants get after they’re taken out of the payout. We just capped it at 15% and now there’s a “Denver fee” here.

So these senators voting to reject the results isn’t actually going to make a difference right? Obviously they won’t have a majority of votes, but does some voting no actually matter other than just showing that some of our elected officials are a major threat to democracy?
