Plus, Antonoff really overdid it on Lover. Most Antonoft songs sound better stripped down in that record.

(Strangely, he was great on folklore)

Still loving it. Imagining combining the albums to about 20 songs, and it's tough to make cuts, so that's a good sign.

Only thing I haven't liked is thinking about all the lost The National songs that will never be.

By the way, some National die hards have determined that "dorothea" uses the same piano melody as this Bob's Burgers National song, lol.

If anything, i think Dessner has a way of producing that is more subtle. He doesnt want his production to show off, but works to highlight the song.

While Antonoff can be kinda showoffy with his production. Sometimes it works marvelously (august), sometimes it detracts from the song (Death by a thousand cuts)

Death By A Thousand Cuts is literally perfect though

antonoff/swift is always a great pairing. i think dessner and her have really managed to craft their own universe over these two releases though

I.like the stripped down live version of Death by a thousands cut way better than the studio one. Same with Cornelia street

Death By A Thousand Cuts would’ve been an immensely better single off Lover than any of the four options chosen.

What intrigues me the most about Folklore/Evermore (and her catalog at large to a slightly lesser amount) is how varied the discrepancies are in favorite songs. I see songs I adore at the bottom of other’s lists while the next list has them mid tier and then a fourth splits them all up. It really speaks to her immense talent to connect to the largest array of people.

Her singles rollout on that album honestly seems like trolling to me.

i love quirky Taylor. I don’t even hate Me! even if it is super cringe. but that same woman wrote Peace and All Too Well and Mine and it’s just really baffling but we stan all the same

Death By A Thousand Cuts is great

I wonder if she’ll make another pop album

Death By a Thousand Cuts is very easily top 5 from Lover. I think I’ve gotta listen to that album now

Jack Antonoff has never overdone it in his career. Dude's a production genius working at his peak right now. We're going to look back on this moment like Gamble and Huff in the 70s or Jam/Lewis in the 80s.

All the talk about Fearless made me listen to it tonight and that album is timeless. I always go in thinking it’s front loaded for some reason and then by the end realize the whole thing is great. Plus it helps that it just gives me a very nostalgic, happy feeling. It’s probably in my top 4 Taylor albums (along with all the even number albums).

And as far as I’m concerned You Belong With Me is one of Taylor’s best songs and really just one of my favorite songs in general

This interview is great; Jimmy really did his research for it. He's now a Swifty too. And Taylor is just the cutest; swoooooon

The one issue I have with their reactions (and most others), are that they really only react to the lyrics, and barely at all to the music itself. Nothing really about how it sounds to them, what they like about the music being heard, and instead super analysis over the lyrics

Also, "Style" is one of the best pop songs ever

She officially squashed the Woodvale rumors.

They were using it as a mock-up title for Folklore and forgot to take it off one of the covers.

Did she say that in the interview? Kinda amazing that a simple mistake caused so much commotion haha
