As someone married to someone with a doctorate the last few days has been rage inducing.

 

This hilarious pretending that “no one knows” how many fields you can get your doctorate in is just making me angry. It was a running joke in Friends about Ross.

One of my favorite high school courses was Film Studies and our teacher had a PhD in theatre arts but preferred to be called Dr. Pelligrino.

I will add that during the 2016 Republican Primaries Newt Gingrich insisted on being referred to as Speaker Gingrich, a title he hadn’t held in 17 years.

 

If I did all the work to get my PhD I’d be going by doctor too, 100%

 

As someone who earned his Sainthood and demands to be referred to by my title I understand.

 

I call all judges “Doctor” to convey that I respect them more than opposing counsel does

 

If you get a PhD, doesn't matter what for, you can refer to yourself as Dr.

doesn't seem like a hard concept but this is America after all

 

This asinine bullshit about Jill Biden referring to herself as “Dr.” just smacks of them firing up the ol’ “Coastal Elites” machinery again. Forgetting of course that their god-emperor is an Ivy League-educated billionaire from New York and Joe Biden is the first president since Reagan that didn’t attend an Ivy League school.

 

Trump is a "man of the people", not because he has a working class upbringing, but because he's a trashy, filandering sociopath.

They relate to him not because of his wealth or power, but because of what he does with it. He can be as apathetic and cruel as he wants with no reprecussions. That's the selling point.
