If you call it carpaccio and serve it in a fancy restaurant, it’s okay!

They're so damn good. My cousin from CO would always grab a few tubs of Fluff and fly it home with him. One apparently exploded in his backpack from the altitude change on the plane once lmao.

I had no idea fluffernutter was actually just a northeast thing until very recently

I'm jealous of how common poutine and ketchup chips seem to be in Canada ngl. I had poutine for like 3 straight days while on vacation in Montreal lol.

I am from the northeast (well, mid atlantic) and I've never eaten a fluffernutter. Never appealed to me.

The only real cuisine local to my general area is the cheesesteak. And yes it is true that if you haven't gotten one in the general Philly area, you most likely haven't had a good one. There are some rare exceptions out there but...they're rare. I tried a few on our roadtrip in other areas of the country and it just wasn't working.

I'm too picky for a Philly cheese steak and always just go for a steak and cheese sub heh

I don't like peppers lol (at least that's what every philly cheese steak has where I live)

    EDIT

Oh maybe I'm actually thinking of a steak bomb sub?

Haha no it’s just a philly cheese steak is so ingrained in my dna a “steak and cheese” sub doesn’t even register

Haha yeah I don’t know if I’d differentiate too much there. Lots of people around here just got steak and cheese and none of the extras. I usually stick to just onions tbh, don’t get like dealings with the peppers and shit. Give me meat and cheese and onions and make it a little soggy with grease/oil and we good

They got so overrated for so long that they’re now underrated IMO. They’re better steaks than people are willing to give them credit for now. Jim’s on south has been my preferred spot but I don’t get to Philly enough to hit all the little spots.

tony lukes are good too, despite also being a sort of “big name”

We have a few good places around here in DE too. Capriottis which is a nation wide chain now started here in DE and the steaks in their spots around here are delicious. Another spot in the city here that’s just a little breakfast and lunch 50s style diner also makes a good one. They get their bread fresh that morning every dsy so that helps. They also have great Italian hoagies though, so good that I usually order that instead of the cheesesteak.
