Yeah that was definitely a weird choice

It was even more weird considering she was the one that seemed to initiate it. Didn't get the sense that she felt that way about him at all.

Whoa the finale is nearly two hours long. I like it.

So much going on with that inhaler. That which he uses to Lee him breathing, may very well serve as the instrument that literally saves his life. However, on the other hand, it's also used as a tool to take a life. (When Naz uses his inhaler while he plays the role of an accessory to murder)

Step-dad following and threatening Stone was pretty interesting.

Really have the feeling this is gonna end without us knowing who killed her/the verdict. Like the idea of that a lot, my girlfriend hated it.

    Spoilers ahead

The kiss made no sense at all. And now, with the finale coming up, it's like either the footage from the camera gets brought up and screws Chandra over in a big way, or it is ignored entirely and was pointless. But beyond that, I just don't buy that she would do that with Naz. He hasn't been the model of innocence, I mean come on he got "SIN" and "BAD" tattooed on his fingers and I highly doubt it was because he's a fan of Sinbad's standup. Maybe House Guest is his favorite movie? I just don't buy it, especially when the trial was going so well for her; risking disbarment just to hook up with someone who may be out of prison in a week or so anyway is just stupid.

As for Freddie, I'm expecting Naz to be in trouble next week. When Naz admitted to Freddie that he knew Victor was raping Petey, I was expecting Freddie to be just as pissed at Naz for not coming to him sooner. Why the hell was Naz ever threatened by Victor in the first place? Naz knows Freddie likes him, and that Freddie basically runs that prison, like what the hell was Victor going to do to Naz in retaliation for telling on him? Freddie probably would have killed him for what he did even before Petey killed himself. Now that Petey is dead, and the drug flow is cut off, and Naz allowed it to happen, I'm not so sure that Freddie is going to be very happy with him.

Last, what gives with that second corpse? Like, Box is just going to cover that up? Why hasn't that gone public yet? I guess it will come into play next week, considering this show has never introduced a detail like that and not paid it off somehow, but still. That body is reasonable doubt right there. Reade, the mortician, or Andrea's stepfather (I'll call him Tom Yates because that's his character on House of Cards and I don't remember his name on this show) are all potential suspects and on the outside, so it basically wins the case for the defense combined with testimony about Tom Yates being a violent gold digger, the mortician being a weird psycho female-hating religious zealot, and Duane Reade being a cold criminal who knew where Angela lived.

Still can't wait for the finale next week, though. I guess Tom Yates and the mortician will be taking the stand as the defense finishes its case. Looking forward to how it all turns out.

Also super out of nowhere but I was looking at imdb and noticed that nazs mother is like STUNNING in real life.

Yeah I think the reveal of the second victim was probably the deciding factor for Box to retire. but I'm like you, how has that reveal not been publicized yet? Surely a journalist had to have gotten word about that.

In reference to the kids between Chandra and Naz, yeah it was caught on tape, but what would elicit anyone to even look at those recordings?

I don't know, but the show was very specific about making sure we saw them from the angle of the security camera. Chekhov's Gun, and all that.

Oh I know they were making a point for us to see they were being recorded, but I can't imagine it's standard procedure for them to check all recordings of interactions between the defendant and attorney. Unless someone noticed that Nas and Chandra are a little too friendly around each other. I don't know.

Y'all didn't see the kiss coming at all? There has been sexual tension between them for a while.

As always, I loved this episode. Might be the best one of the series, which seemingly happens every week.

Cannot wait for the extended finale.

  18. What did you all read from the heavy focus on Box's retirement party toward the end interweaving with Naz's scenes?

Are they trying to communicate Box deep down doesn't believe Naz did it?

If this show's writing had been on the level of, say, True Detective or a network police procedural I would've expected the kiss

I don't think it's that much better than True Detective. It isn't trash, but the second half of it has turned into any other procedural crime-based drama, albeit with slightly more nuance.
