also, like, if there's someone with receipts with helping smaller artists it's taylor and what she did for the UMG family of artists/acts in regards to music ownership.

 

I feel like we’ve already had this exact discourse this year, so I’m hoping when the album drops tonight it’ll get drowned out by the good vibes.

 

So yea that's another thing, this all already played out with Folklore and it's really silly to try to dig it up again

And this is coming from someone that does like Zola Jesus

 

going to do the same thing with this album as with folklore, going to get in the car and drive along the coast for an hour as we bump it real loud for our first listen

 

Got it - I didn't realize that's what it's for. I thought it was more trying to make a statement. That makes sense.

I went to bed at 9:30, downloaded the next morning, and chatted with @Craig Manning during my first listen at like 7am.

Maybe I’ll stay up this time. Maybe I’ll fall asleep at 8:45 like last night.

it was pretty amazing, and should be even MORE amazing with Christmas lights out now. We live in Redondo, so we drove/will drive down through Hwermosa/Manhattan Beach to the coast of El Segundo/Playa Del Rey, around the Marina to Venice and Santa Monica, then back home on the freeway. I'm SO EXCITED

My first listen will again be in the morning, haha. Been an absolute nightmare of a week and sleep is something I need more of. But I am excited to listen when I wake up!

Folklore is also a joy only provided at the price of a pandemic.

 

I’ve had a nice bottle of champagne sitting in my fridge waiting for us to finally sign the papers and close on our house. Process has been delayed months because of the pandemic so I was thinking about just cracking it open for tonight and replacing it with my Christmas bonus.

Just got a call and I’m signing the papers at 6:30 tonight.

I’m most excited to start folklore at 10:56 so I can roll right into evermore, only for it to not show up on Apple Music until 12:48.

 

It sucks that I’m no longer unemployed so that I can stay up until 1 am listening to this album without having to worry about work tomorrow, but I’m still gonna do it

 

Trying to maintain moderate expectations, but if I love anything on this as much as or more than mirrorball I will perish right where I stand
