its the frontline and fauci for me. my wife is giving positive tests on the daily and almost every night has breakdowns. they deserve the world.

 

Honestly, I think it's somewhat inconceivable that they give it to anyone other than the health care workers and fauci. It's rare that there's been this big of a crisis during an election year and (not to quote the overused conservative argument) it's not like Biden was the most visible leader during this and/or elected due to his ability to lead us out of crisis. It was much more Trump making half the country hate him, so saying that Biden had the biggest impact would be a bit strange to me

 

Which is true, but its also true that Time magazine recognition is not the world or anywhere close. They need investment and resources.

Its nice to be given that recognition, but its so much more important to actually help these people in legitimate ways. And its a bummer that more energy is going to talking about a meaningless award than helping the people that deserve it.

I just don’t see them giving it to frontline health care workers alone after they did it back in 2014 with the Ebola outbreak. I think they’ll be included in the larger category of “essential workers”, which will be cool to see some working poor jobs hopefully get represented in it.

not giving it to Biden will obviously be a break in tradition a bit but, assuming he doesn’t colossally fuck things up, he’s basically gonna be a shoe in for it next year just based on turning things around and getting the pandemic under control and etc. The case will be made for vaccine researchers as well tho
