That has a bunch of tweets about both the PS5 and PS4 versions and it’s wild how broken this game is at 1.00. I don’t think a 25ishGB patch is gonna fix this for tomorrow’s launch.

I think the important to note detail there is that the PC version of the game that reviewers are playing has the only patch that's coming any time soon already applied to it. So all those bugs and crashes and everything in the PC version of the game aren't getting patched out tomorrow. Regardless of what fixes the patch might bring to the last-gen console versions, it's abundantly clear the game was released in an embarrassingly unfinished state. And all that crunch was for nothing, because the game should've been delayed for probably another year.

I’ve been arguing with people on Twitter about this and goddamn, I hate gamers. Like the general consensus is they don’t have to put out a good version for base consoles, it’s people’s fault they’re too poor for higher end consoles or PCs, and one guy perpetuated that I can just find a Pro for dirt cheap (LMFAO) and I’m just being a baby.

 

Oh and one other guy guy tried to flex about his Pokémon card value and his Tik Tok numbers. Enjoy your bubble, dude!

 

Based on what reviewers are saying I get the feeling Cyberpunk is heading for another Fallout 76 situation, at least in terms of bugs. I'm expecting it to be a pretty brutal initial rollout, CDPR would have been better off just delaying the game until they could go full next-gen and polishing up that version rather than trying to compromise it to get it to run on three different iterations of consoles.

As someone who basically sat last gen out, day one patches blow my mind. Like if you have to have a big ass patch just to play the game after you just bought it then why not just wait to release it until it’s playable without the download

That’s the problem though, they spent all this developing the game to run on current consoles before the next gen consoles came into play. Now, if they came out and admitted their version was too grand for the current generation ahead of time and cancelled those versions for next gen, it would be shitty but understandable.

 

They probably still wanted to make the 2020 deadline as an homage to the the title of the p&p version.

Quirks and all I'm looking forward to this though. The story and presentation in CDPR's take o the material always seemed like a more antiquated take on the genre so I'm more than ready to play this through a lens of not taking it seriously instead of hoping for a visionary transcendent work of sci-fi or whatever so many gamers are expecting.

So I cracked and downloaded Cyberpunk to my PS5 and honestly, it looks really poor graphically. Like, really poor. The character models and textures lack any real detail and there’s a thick layer of blur/distortion on top of everything like it’s shot in soft focus. I know this doesn’t have the next gen patch yet but this is really disappointing given how great many recent PS4 games have looked. I’m not going to play any more until they patch it for next gen, which pisses me off because I could have just waited and got it on sale.

edit: I quit and reloaded and it seems to look a bit better so maybe it was a bug that didn’t load the day one patch or something?

 

The best thing about this whole thing is that it looks to run best on Stadia.
