Also, according to Worldometers (which compiles data slightly differently than COVID tracking project) we have hit a record number of deaths with just under 2800

I mean, I'm not sure if this is the worst thing I've seen today (although I feel like Trump and Giuliani have been relatively quiet so it might be), but this certainly the most WTF thing I've seen today

 

Honestly, people bitching about the “defund the police” slogan are so transparent.

Politicians and pundits criticize it because they flat out don’t support the underlying policy.

“Normal” people criticize it because it lets them play pundit online as though they know jack shit about political messaging.

 

Admittedly, It's not an actual ISIS Flag, it's a parody, but still a fucking awful one.

I think white teen leftists try so hard to offend the establishment at all costs, they forget who they're supposed to be fighting for.

What results? Police are killing black people on video, pretty much driving tanks at this point, and beating the shit out of protesters while all those empty slogans have been used

 

Results is the wrong word, apologies. Should have used "proposals". Those slogans have not been used by a massive proportion of the country in a clear and coherent method to effect change, and they should be incorporated into the vast swarth of messaging that is used to defund the police.

 

This Neera Tanden shit has been a massive win for the “Twitter isn’t real life” side

 

I guess what I'm trying to say is: everybody make your own sign, just find ways to agree on what the substantive, achievable goals are. And we shouldn't act like saying exactly what you want to happen is the end all, be all of making it so. Even beyond "Build The Wall" and "Lock Her Up", I can't think of a single, simple, effective, policy-based slogan that actually has worked.
