I love that the Criticism section of The Giving Pledge really says it all about altruistic billionaires.

  3. ohio republicans have a stranglehold on the state probably due a lot to gerrymandering. the ohio democratic party may as well not exist they’re so fucking useless but the state supreme court has swung from a ludicrous 7-0 conservative majority to 4-3 in the last couple election cycles so maybe there’s a way forward

why has that happened at the state court level even as Dems get shellacked statewide elsewhere? Seems like such a weird thing to decide to vote Democratic for haha

I guess if Sherrod thinks the writing is on the wall in 2024 he can take a run at Pres?

Nope, watch just the top. The colors inside are moving, but not the circles themselves.

I honestly don’t understand it. I’ve been here six years and it’s been total disappointment and blatant out in the open corruption by republicans that comes with zero political consequences. And then slowly the dems have gained a few Supreme Court seats among crushing defeats but I think it’s misleading and you’ll see those seats disappear once the dems come up for re-election. Even this past elections 2 seats were up (both Republicans) and they split, one republican won and one democrat, so people just aren’t voting those seats along party lines but if the court is ever in jeopardy I expect the vote to go solid red.
