my guess is simply money. For the past four years he’s probably been one of the highest involved accounts in terms of user engagement. Who knows how many of his followers have signed up to a Twitter just to follow him.

The whatabout-isms against student loan cancellation are just so fucking petty. If you can’t handle the idea of making the world a better place by encouraging feasible avenues for the same higher education you once sought, then it’s clear your degree was never actually about the education itself. They’d rather watch people suffer than achieve the social status they assign to a college degree

 

I paid off my student loans this year, I am 100% in favor of cancelling student loan debt because I'm not a raging selfish shithead. The "I suffered, so everyone has to" is fucking baffling to me.

I should also add that I only went for one year so they were manageable, and I had help. Some of those loans are borderline impossible to pay off. It's absurd that we stick an 18 year old kid with a lifetime of debt

 

I never had student loans, I would be significantly worse off in life if I was stuck paying them. There's no logical argument that doesn't end in "things would be better if they were all canceled"

Some people would not like things to be better out of spite and hatred. That's all it is.

 

If they've already decided to ban him when Biden is sworn in they're just wasting time now. All the rules are made up so just change them.

Re student loan forgiveness: There is a mentality in this country that thinks success means more people have it worse than you. It’s a capitalism sickness, everything is a capital competition and people saddled with loans puts them behind the 8 ball and gives people a perceived advantage. It’s all delusion and misplaced competition but that’s capitalism for you.

 

Yeah I’ve been thinking about this for a while, can lawsuits and/or criminal charges be brought on to people in the Trump admin for their negligence in all of this?

 

This thread keeps alternating back and forth between terrible renditions of the phrase "I can't believe this is real" to beautiful, glorious ones like what we see above.
