Yeah, that all makes sense. Like I said, I'm all for it - even if it's just a quick band aid for people currently going through it.

Here's hoping a permanent fix can come about as well. Because, y'know, that would help everybody as time goes on.

I was wondering when we were gonna get to the point where nurses and doctors just tell people to get fucked if they’re not gonna try to prevent the spread of the virus.

I had my monthly appointment today with my kidney doc. The guy a few chairs over refused his flu shot and thinks Covid is fake. The doctor said "stay safe out there" (as hes been telling everyone for months) and the guy lost his shit over it "because its bullshit". When it was my time to see the doctor, he was so angry. The doctors in that group are getting sick. The hospitals are overwhelmed. He's as confused about humanity right now as I am.

 

Wait...it's not even half the troops there?! Did I hear/read that right? 1000 each while leaving 2500 each?


Sooo...what does...this actually accomplish? We'll 1. Still be there, but 2. be in a weaker position so that it makes it so the next guy may have some sort of crisis in these areas to start with.

Am I missing something here?

 

I know it goes against literally everything they stand for, but if they just started turning away people who said shit like this and said "Sorry, in my medical opinion you are a safety hazard to my other patients" or something....I'd like to think maybe that would shut the fuck up some of these people, but...yeah.

 

We also get screened every morning. They specifically ask if we have any cold-like symptoms and if we've been exposed. The guy next to me apparently lied to the RN to get in because as the tech was hooking him up to the machine he said "I'm not sure if I have a cold or just have too much fluid on".

He's been sent to the Covid clinic before because he was exposed. I imagine he doesn't want to do that again. I was livid.

 

from the far outside Trump does look more anti war than his predecessors. the bar is extremely low. not to mention my impression of the operations of the pentagon is that it’s pretty much autonomous.

Wtf, even though my sister's school she works in is going full remote from Thanksgiving through New Years, teachers still need to be on campus. I seriously do not understand the rationale of these people. It makes no sense.

 

I know this isn't the point, but he represents Asheville which has at least two synagogues and one of the four Jewish Community Centers in NC. It's a very liberal city (as far as NC goes). I thought Asheville would get a Dem rep after the recent redistricting efforts since the city used to be gerrymandered in half.... it's mind-boggling to me.
