Totally unfamiliar with statehood and how it would work, but if DC and Puerto Rico became states, I imagine that would come with 4 Democratic Senators? No?

Seconded. I wish the media wouldn't report on anything about him for the next 4 years, either. Trump is going to take his Klan rallies on the road for the next 4 years, and I hope we focus on real things going on.

 

What makes you think that Biden can get covid under control? While Trump has certainly fanned the flames with spreading disinformation, I think the US's covid problems are more down to the stupidity of our people, than the government response. The same people who refuse to wear masks under Trump, are the same people who are going to refuse to wear masks under Biden. Switching leadership isn't going to convince people to change their behavior, and I don't believe for a second that we will go back into lockdowns, other than a handful of states doing marginal measures like curfews. We may get more consistent messaging, and leadership spreading message of it's severity, but ultimately, too many people just won't listen. Also, people are hypocrites and even those that say Trump was a disaster, and the virus is real, and his handling of it was a disaster, are clinking glasses with their friends at packed breweries and think wearing a mask while in line is protection enough, despite taking it off as soon as they're out of the line to drink with everyone. Call me a pessimist, but the numbers are not going to change under Biden. Too many people are not following direction to mask up and distance, whether it's because they're selfish and value their social life, or a tad bit nutty and are doing it as a political statement against tyranny or just plain misinformed and don't believe in the severity of it. What can Biden do as president to curb all that? I don't see a thing. And while the numbers remain the same, conservatives will parrot the same thing we all said about Trump, and that the spread is the presidents fault. It's our fault.

So Alaska might be heading to an abolition of the partisan primary system in favor of a top 4 open primary and then a ranked choice general.

Basically, a primary will be replaced with all candidates being on the ballot and the Top 4 make it to the general, where there will be ranked choice voting.
