Harvard is like probably 90% just kids from rich/well connected families. That someone went there should send up more of a red flag than anything else

 

Same situation...my college set me up with private loans from Sallie Mae. About 80K worth over the course of 4 years...only to find out the college was getting kickbacks from Sallie Mae for the amount of students they got to finance through them.

The issue with private loans is they have variable interest rates, it was up to 7.3% before covid tanked the economy. Navient bought Sallie Mae but kept all the terrible policies for private loans (no income based repayment, variable interest rates, can’t be consolidated within Navient, etc).

It truly is a scam.
