The same with me; I went on the most amazing trip with my ex two years ago to LA/California, and I absolutely fell in love with the city. And this song by The Midnight, done to visuals of La La Land, takes me right back to that city

 

Why does the proposed debt cancellation cut off at 50,000? I wouldn’t complain too much but why do they always do this. Just cancel all of it if you have the authority to cancel it. At least cancel the insane interest so our payments actually go toward the debt if you aren’t going to cancel all of it.

I missed the student loan discussion earlier, but some things that DRIVES ME UP A FUCKING WALL when people post about it “being your choice & nobody forced you to go”:

Most jobs out there require a bachelors degree (and some a masters degree) AND 3-5 years experience, where in the end they’ll pay you 30k and charge you $80 a paycheck for shitty health insurance. It’s fucked.

And also, most older people who give you their story of “I worked 2 jobs and paid off my debt in a summer” can fuck themselves. If I could make 72k working at a 2nd job and then charge 7% interest on that then sure, but nowadays it’s absolutely fucked and a giant scam. Cancel it all.

We can hardly buy houses, buy cars, have kids, and start families all because we have to pay hundreds of dollars forever to pay off an education with a degree you can’t even get a job with.

To go along with this, there’s also YEARS of propaganda (at least there was in the 90s and early 00s) that we receive in high school and passed down from relatives that we absolutely have to go to college if we want to have a good career. The people that went to trade schools or no college at all were looked at in my area of Ohio as kind of hick losers or burnouts. But I bet they have way less debt to pay off than I do.
