Basically, stay home, don't mingle with outside friends/family, and only go to the grocery store/out shopping when absolutely necessary. And wear your damn mask. For the next several months at least

we are so FUCKED. the amount of people out there actively killing people by not wearing a mask is an incredible commentary on how shitty this country can be.

And Charlie Baker just had a press conference in MA at the end of last week saying they want to get rid of remote and hybrid and get all of the kids back into the schools as much as possible.

The gist of the whole thing was that so far data has shown that schools are not a place where it spreads and kids are not any less safe from infection physically in the schools, and in some cases they are more safe from infection than staying at home.

But I don't think any of that data is being pulled from a country that is in the situation where we are in now, where the virus is completely exploding through the entire population and actually picking up speed exponentially, everywhere, at the same time.

My wife and I were having serious second thoughts about home schooling the kids after Charlie Baker's presser, but seeing this data only reinforces my original thoughts.

Now if only the government would make this practical for most working people

  6. I'm in a mood this morning, so I apologize, but anyone else think it's fucked up to wake up and basically have some weird council of elders decide what get to be in our laws today?

Yeah, unless the government does something, people have no choice but to continue going to work and basically living life as “normal” while the virus rages on in the country.

And we should go on another lockdown of some sort, but without government help most businesses wouldn’t survive that and that’s a problem.

Let it go as in not doing anything to hold the GOP accountable for all the shit they're doing and "the past is the past, heal the nation" bullshit

As others have mentioned, another obvious step would be to pay full wages of bar and restaurant workers. Like, it's a no-brainer

Did you guys know that “kamala’s first act of Congress will be to ban all guns?”

(Actual conversation I’m listening to at dialysis between staff)

  12. Yeah, we should be pressuring the House, who have the power, to do their fucking jobs right now.

What I've heard is that Biden's team is going to spend a lot of time basically codifying a bunch of the "norm" breaking stuff that has been going on into actual policy going forward, to try and prevent some of this shit from happening again.

I'm ready for a new AG like yesterday.

Amazing how they say "we are going to hold a majority in the senate" like its a done deal when it literally actually isn't; but then pretend like Biden winning isn't a done deal when it actually is.

Interesting. I never knew that the vice president had the authority to unilaterally pass "acts of Congress." I also didn't recall her mentioning mentioning anything about banning all guns during the campaign. Hm... I guess you learn something new every day.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if some of them are considering that and coming to the conclusion that, should riots burning down whole cities occur, it would only help their rhetoric
