I think it's kind of funny to lump someone like Soros in with "moderate" liberals...at least in the sense that he doesn't want or like radicalism..

Well, he certainly doesn't want redistribution. But, I think it depends upon one's center of gravity. He is a capitalist, who is a progressive, but doesn't want real progressive policies in place.

23% of likely voters don't want either candidate. Thanks primary system.

    Only 23%?

So two-thirds of the country actually want Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, as opposed to a candidate who isn't objectively awful?

    That frankly seems low.

Agreed. I know only 9% of the population voted for one or the other in the primary, but that's including those ineligible to vote.

    How is Soros not moderate?

I guess it depends on definitions and semantics. I conceptualize "moderate" as being merely right of the left/right-most group of discernible political influence, so left of the median of persons who identify as liberal, and considerably left of centrists, blue dogs, etc. Since there is a sizable portion, perhaps approaching majority, of liberals that align as social democrats, I think it's fair to say Soros is definitively moderate by that definition =)

Two thirds of likely voters. There are a lot of people who simply can't or won't vote. And even then, a lot of those are less "I want Clinton / I want Trump" and more "I don't want Trump / I don't want Clinton"

  18. From Trump or the "dog whistle"?

Liberals like to infer that black persons can only be depicted in terms of political utility, which is pretty disingenuous since the Democrats are WAY worse when it comes to purposefully token-izing the black body in politics. Frankly, I'm less inclined to infer a racial dog whistle in a RNC ad than a DNC one, and considerably so.

Not apparent to me that there were any racial overtones to that ad. Could be that, shocking I know, black people are an integral part of our society and should be included in any depictions that are meant to be representative....or can be there by incident because they make up a sixth or so of our population.

EDIT: To be clear, this post wasn't critical of JT, just of the conduct of media outlets lately.
