LoL at a German late night talk show rn, there's a german-speaking American who is a leader of "Republicans Overseas".

The host asks him about trump claiming victory early yesterday: "what kind of understanding of democracy is this?"

The rep's defense of trump: "well, he's an optimist"

 

I wonder if they are worried about having to retract AZ. So would rather not set up a situation where NV gets called and they have to call the election.

 

but how do you know if the people you're referring want to be described as "latinx"?

If you have a group of people and only some of them are vegetarian and the rest eat meat, if you have to choose between vegetarian food and a meat dish for everyone to eat, you go with the vegetarian option because its more inclusive.

Even if the majority of a group doesn't like the fact that you're trying to be inclusive of someone... isn't that their fault not yours?

That's the thing about all of the culture war stuff. At the end of the day, it's just about being respectful to others. Somehow it gets turned into 1984 groupthink. Can't wait for a new generation of progressive speakers who can articulate this stuff. I truly believe we're not as far apart as we seem to be.
