She has "Future President" written all over her; it's only figuring out when

y'all have more faith in the establishment and media not continuing to do the same thing they do every single time against progressive candidates than I do

If he wants to redeem himself, this is a good way of doing it.

It’s truly amazing how easy she always makes it seem just by...giving the right answers to the media’s bs questions. Just goes to show how totally out of touch and hopelessly ineffectual all of the more senior members of Congress are in comparison.

We never doubted that Beto was a dedicated Democrat, the main problem with him was that he was a lame centrist trying to pretend he’s a progressive.

Yeah if she’s going to be president it’s not going to be until like the 2040s at theearliest IMO.

Then again I was skeptical that America was ready to vote for a black man back in 2007 so...I’ve been wrong before!

Also that he tried to run for President for like two weeks instead of what would likely be a very competitive senate run that’s in play without him anyway

That’s why this is redeeming for me - he’s staying in his lane and doing worthwhile things (seemingly successfully!) instead of wasting everyone’s time and money running for President.

Yeah I do wonder how he’d be polling against Cornyn right now if he got in.

Not sure what him and Castro were waiting for once they dropped out. I guess the obvious is making a play for an admin role
or going for Texas Gov in 2022.

or maybe one of them wants a crack at Cruz in 2024

I’d argue it’s easier for those who uphold current power structures to allow a black man who isn’t gonna upset their status quo too much, than it is someone with a clear ideology & vision for challenging said status quo.

Though, while AOC is the current political figure who’d excite me the most & have the most potential for change imo with a presidential run someday... I also feel like a lot of people put too many eggs in the presidential basket? Getting more AOC types into Congress & other places interests me more than trying to hammer another leftist through the current party into the presidency (as much as getting a good president through could also do a shit ton of good).

agreed. Build a leftist bench in state level offices and congress, help shift the Overton window left, etc.

I’m curious what kind of cabinet we get out of Biden. There’s going to be a lot of clunkers for sure but I’m hoping Bernie can get a few picks in there and we can get something like Inslee at the EPA and etc
