Based on the preview for next week, the FBI knows more about fsociety than the show has led us to believe so far. It's entirely possible they have an idea that Elliot's involved, but don't have anything more than circumstantial evidence against him and the rest of fsociety.

That was awesome. Just because it was predictable doesn't mean it wasn't cool. The clues were everywhere, but they still could have just been symbolism.

I don't think Tyrell is dead, but we've seen him multiple times this season in visions and flashbacks that normally would take away from the surprise value of him returning. So I think when he does come back he'll be severely changed from how he was in season 1, disfigured maybe.

Have a feeling Tyrell won't be fully revealed until the final moments of the season finale and he'll be out on the ocean in a different country on a yacht or something looking at headlines. Then Season 3 will focus more on where he's been and what's going on with him.

I'm still going under the assumption that EVERYTHING in this show is some sort of illusion/mind trick. Elliot's perspective cannot be trusted so therefore everything that has happened should be questioned.

wait...the idea is that he's been in prison this whole time?

I think 'this whole time' he meant This SEASON. He went to prison between seasons.

    Clues included:

-The size and contents of his bedroom
    - His 'mom' not talking
    - The amount of / pattern of lights in his 'moms house' hallway
    - The basketball court situation
    - Eating at the same place every day
    - Group therapy

Oh I mean the clues are obvious now I just never thought there was something to uncover this season. There were a few predictions I'm sure

Great interview with Sam discussing the "reveal" --- Mr. Robot creator explains season 2s big twist

    Highlights:
-Similar to the Mr Robot reveal in S1, it wasn't intended to be a big gotcha moment. We're seeing this from Elliot's perspective and changing his reality is merely a coping mechanism. Part of the secrecy came from Elliot not trusting "us" anymore and keeping things from us.
-The coming episodes will shed more light more light on the reality of the prison situation.
-He understands that the beginning of this season was slow and that the longer episodes added to that. Was necessary to do in order to set up the second half of this season (compared it to The Empire Strikes Back).
-Regarding what Mr Robot told Elliot about Tyrell's fate: "How much do you believe, given what you know about Mr. Robot, from what you've seen already? That's what we have to go on, and what Elliot has to go on."
-What can we expect the rest of the season?: "We will do plenty of question-answering in the back half, especially with all the things we set up in the first half of the season"

Seen a lot of Captain Hindsights popping up all over the Internet since last night.

Maybe it's because I wasn't actively trying to deconstruct the show and figure out what "this season's twist" would be. Maybe it's because I stayed away from comments sections and didn't read any theories about the show. I kind of just watched it and let it happen to me. Either way, I thought the reveal was perfectly done. And I was definitely surprised, even if I sound stupid for saying it.

    And Tyrell definitely isn't dead.

It's not captain hindsight's lol. It's been a popular fan theory from the jump

I was sure something was up during the first episode. Going on here and listening to podcasts after only solidified my beliefs and pointed out other details that I missed. That's not necessarily a bad thing though. It was intended to be hidden in plain sight. Sam wants you to see these things. There is a reason for the extreme detail put into every scene.

I definitely would not call myself a film/TV critic by any stretch, but I've been writing reviews of this since the second episode this season (or third if you're counting the premiere as two). Back on board fully with this show. Would love any feedback/thoughts on this: Review: Mr. Robot – eps2.5_h4ndshake.sme

Tbh I probably wouldn't have figured it out on my own, but the second I saw the theory online I was like "Oh yeah, that's for sure what's happening"

Kind of bummed that I read the Jail theory after the premiere, I wonder if I would have picked up on it by myself. Throughout the season I was kind of going back and forth, but once I saw the white power gang confront him on the court I was pretty much positive it was jail.

Curious to see how the Ray situation actually went down.

Also really loved the cuts between Elliot and Mr Robot while he was getting beat up by the gang

That prison has to have an awesome barber to keep up with Elliot's hairstyle.

So was Elliot in prison since the beginning of the season or after he ratted Ray out and the F.B.I. came in (since they told Elliot to stay)?
