Pretty sure that tracklist isn't in the same order as the tracks in the video, by the way. I can't tell what all of them are called but where I'm at so far "Slide on Me" played and then a couple later was "Deathwish"

 

Arca was already on a Ye album though!!!

The whole thing is about labor or "work." He's building a staircase, it's a traditional/masculine form of physical labor. This is something that has an obvious amount of "work." The album playing in the background represents a form of emotional or psychological labor; the amount of "work" is more intangible. How much "work" does it take to create vulnerable art?

Is four years too long for what we're about to hear? Should he have worked faster? What's moving faster, the tea or the cup?

 

The last part reminds me of Depeche Mode so much.
