Videogames are fun but sometimes they are not

 

I wanna play through BioShock 1 and 2 and Alien Isolation again but I hateeee being watched playing videogames, so I always find it really difficult to get in the right headspace to enjoy single player games properly now. It’s kind of sad. Makes me superrr anxious. Partner always makes random comments that throw me off and take me out of it haha. Even without the comments I’m just constantly anxious whenever being watched. Feels super selfish to want to be alone for a while now that I’m living with someone but urghhh. Can’t really turn around like hey, do you mind going in the only other room (without a tv) so I can enjoy myself without you for a bit haha.

 

i can empathize with that. What pisses me off is when there’s someone else in the room I am playing, especially if it’s a hard game, and they’re like ... ignoring me when I struggle? Haha. Idk it’s hard to describe.

ever since I got a PC in my office to play games on I’ve had a much better time.

My fiancé works in the same room and when she is on the phone she throws pens at me when something (volume of the TV, my voice, the clicking of the buttons) is too loud. That’s my pandemic video game experience.

Yeah I could listen to the game audio through headphones, but I like listening to podcast while I'm gaming so my headphones are occupied.
