Went to see the original Halloween in theaters tonight. It was sold out when I got there. I was sad.

  2. Tell you what - we get back and everyone's dead? I owe you a Coke.

  3. Okay, I think I have my weekend sorted. Watched Dawn of the Dead OG with some friends earlier (probably my favorite zombie flick). Doing Night of the Creeps and Microwave Massacre tonight, Funhouse Massacre and 31 tomorrow night.

Just watched Lamberto Bava's Demons. What a movie. Some really solid gore in that one.

    @OhTheWater

Just watched The Wolf of Snow Hollow.

I liked it, but was ultimately let down. If I'd have seen it before Thunder Road, I probably would have liked it more. The character was basically the same in both films and I guess I was expecting more of a horror film but this was again, a movie about a guy having a nervous breakdown. Guess I was just hoping for something else.

I did find parts funny, and enjoyed Riki's performance. I was confused by the ending though. Did I miss something? Who was the random guy that shows up in the last 5 minutes and is revealed to be the killer? Were we supposed to know who that was?

Lmao. Just scrolled back and read your posts. I swear I didn't just copy your post. Have you read anything else about the ending? I'm still confused.

AMC is playing Halloween Ressurrection right now. Haven't really watched it in a looooong time.

But holy shit the cast is like a whose who of late 90s/early 2000s teen movies, + pop culture figures of the time. Gotta love Busta. Totally forgot some of these other people were in the movie tho lol. Thomas Ian Nichols, Sean Patrick Thomas, etc.

Looked at some stuff on The Wolf of Snow Hollow and our opinion seems to be the consensus opinion amongst people who saw Thunder Road first. More positive reviews from people who were new to Cummings.

Also the killer was the taxidermist, which I didn't make the connection originally, but I do remember Jim researching taxidermy in the library, and now realize that the tool Jimmy Tatro's character calls about mailing back to the police at the end was the taxidermist's.

Watched The Exorcist III again, this time with someone who hadn't see it before and it still manages to utterly enthral me in a way the other two do not.

I don't think I've ever seen The Exorcist III, or probably even 2 for that matter, but you find it more engrossing that the original?

  15. Recently rewatched the original along with the third for the first time, and while the original is a classic, I do think I may have preferred the third as well. Different films though, wouldn't say it's better or anything

I can’t say III is better than the original myself, but they’re very different films so I definitely understand people with that opinion.

The original is just one of the few times I’ve been genuinely terrified by a movie.

the tool, afaik, is first brought up when his character calls riki saying they left it there. I don’t recall any earlier mention of it, which makes the ending so random

  22. Original or remake? I honestly couldn't tell you how far in it is probably baby towards the end of the first act/beginning of the second, but I don't think it lasts very long. Sorry, I know that's not super helpful.

  23. 31 was somehow worse than I remembered. I love House of 1000 Corpses, enjoy Halloween and The Devil's Rejects for what they are, but this might be his worst. Bad editing, worse dialogue, and just like...shlocky shit for shock's sake (a nazi little person? old folks in powder wigs? sure, whatever). Richard Brakes is great, though.

So far, The Funhouse Massacre is kinda dumb but really fun. Always great to see Robert England in a non-Freddy context.
