Movies like Deep Blue Sea are sorely missed in modern mainstream cinema. No setup for sequels, no extended universe, no ironic detachment from its own formula, just a dumb and loud b movie.

The resident evil series is a modern masterpiece in unhinged action cinema. We will never see something like that on that scale again, love it or hate it

I have Anaconda pretty close to memorized. Voight was such a big actor that they let him just make up this bizarre quasi-South American character the doesn't resemble anything you would find in real life.

The Sharknado movies and others like them really derailed those sorts of films. People expect those awful effects and C-list actors now. Everyone acknowledges the absurdity of the premise and winks at the audience.

  6. I didn’t see The Meg but it seemed to be going for that type of feel.

The Meg was just a commercial for some Chinese beach town. It was the Wayne's World 2 product placement scene but it was not supposed to be a joke.

feels like the last one we got was den of thieves. just a completely shameless Heat ripoff that nails all the beats.

Jon Voight in Anaconda is incredible.

My biggest takeaway from Anaconda is still how did that guy swallow a wasp underwater?

Alright, I just finished the first episode of Bly Manor, and all you people who said this wasn't scary are fucking lying liars who are lying.

Well the first episode scared the shit out of me. It’s interesting, it has lower scores across the board than the first season but everyone I trust has told me it might be a masterpiece.

Loved Bly, but wouldn’t consider it scary in the slightest. Tho obviously that’s my opinion.
