Digne with a sublime assist for Mbappe...gets injured a minute later fml

  2. ---------- Kane ----------
    Rashford - Grealish - Sancho
    ----- Rice - Henderson -----
    AMN - Mings - Gomez - TAA
    ------- Henderson --------

I just want to see this lineup once (can swap around the CBs I suppose), but that front 6 looks like a very strong team.

Chilwell at LB. Agree with the rest though.

It would be a big shout to leave Sterling out of the team when fit. It’ll be a big season for the likes of Greenwood and Foden now. They definitely would have been in the squad if not for there idiotics on the previous break.

On paper we have fantastic attacking options. Centre midfield and centre back do seem like big problems for us. I don’t think any of the England midfielders can dictate a game or become a regular scorer. Grealish is fantastic but always plays better coming in off the left rather than starting as a 10. Perhaps Foden will be the one to fill that roll. We really need a midfielder who can make that killer pass.

Yeah I agree Sterling at LW and Chilwell at LB. mind went blank earlier haha

  6. Saw rumors of Leeds wanting Cantwell. That’d be cool.

    Guendouzi has covid.

Not surprising that over this international break we've seen even more players come down with it.

What a stupid idea to have non-essential international matches right now. Should have been the playoffs only, and maaaaybe the nations league matches. the fact they all played three matches with many including a friendly is just insane.

    My top 3:

    1) Haaland
    2) Davies
    3) Sancho

So many cool/good players on there this year, but those 3 make the most impact on their respective teams as of right now imo.

Davies was just integral to a Bayern treble. He should 100% win imo. Haaland and Sancho were second best to Davies' team.

Genuine question - is the Golden Boy award given based on current ability or perceived future potential?

Not that it matters given that any of those 3 would be fair winners regardless, but I'm just curious.

Current ability or future potential would still see Haaland win for me, his goalscoring record already speaks for itself and I would be inclined to pick him over Davies due to his individual contributions being overall more decisive despite not matching Davies' trophy haul this year. It's close, though

Yeah that's kinda my view too. Haaland is better at everything to do with being a striker, than Davies is at everything to do with being a LB, if that makes sense. The things Haaland does - the bullying of defenders, the finishing ability, his hold up play, his footballing intelligence - he does those things on a level that most experienced, older forwards could only dream of.

Don't get me wrong though, Davies is still incredible and adds so much to that Bayern side. It's a tough decision.

Davies is a fabulous footballer, Haaland is special.

Derby County have signed Colin Kazim-Richards. What a blast from the past.

    hmmm

Just realised that Saturday's game is exactly ten years since Everton won a Merseyside derby.

Roy Hodgson had the cheek to say after the game that it was our best performance of the season...

    Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself.

Haaland will absolutely win that, but I think that's the most stacked Golden Boy line up I can remember.

So close to a debut wonder goal for Musiala in the Pokal tonight. I think we'll see him on a Golden Boy list in the future.

fwiw i think haaland is “better” at his position and has had a more improved year. but i think davies will absolutely make it a close run and has a case to win it outright

My mistake. My commentator said he was making his full debut.

Literally a perfect opportunity for Ole to shake the team up this weekend. Coming off the back of a huge loss, literally no one would question a change up and big names being dropped. Every other manager in the league would do it. De Gea, Pogba, Maguire should be at risk, given we have tailor made replacements already (Maguire less so, but a player that isn't actively sabotaging our game would be a bonus).

Obviously I'm expecting an unchanged XI.

Maguire has a "knock". That means he's definitely playing.
