No, but really @alphaadept has a valid point. Not that we shouldn't jump on the Titans, we should, fuck them, #TitanDown, but that the NFL's idea of "Well, we did everything right if only the teams and players could listen" was a dumb idea at best, and intellectually dishonest at worst and we should jump up and down on them as well.

The report said people were lying about symptoms. They met up after multiple players and staff tested positive and it appears to have resulted in further spreading the disease. Those things are extremely reckless. It is dumb to have a season yes but it’s another level of dangerous to ignore signs of the virus and to get together after knowing that there was an outbreak within your group.

Then I’m all for the titans getting punishment on lying about symptoms. I honestly hadn’t seen that, and have mostly seen them getting flack for meeting September 30th. Lying about symptoms is the reckless.

I’m still holding the organization responsible over the team for allowing them to think there’s a possibility it makes sense to meet up when they are in active quarantine.

 

I mean, the NFL said "Do not do this" and they did it. So seems like punishment is warranted for that alone before you factor in all the other knuckleheaded stuff they've done

I mean the organization is pushing for games to move forward when individual players test positive. The first day there were 3 players so the rest of the team prepares for a game. The nfl is still saying they want the Titans to play a game this week. It is almost incentivizing them to find a work around. Just make them forfeit or cancel or whatever and set the precedent. That’s why I’m saying it falls on the organization first.

Titans are trash and they’re a great scapegoat but it would’ve probably been another team if it wasn’t them

as I’ve been saying. The NFL’s only responsible choice was to cancel the season and that ship sailed months ago.

 

For example, Dolphins having governor DeSantis’ blessing to go to full capacity. I know they aren’t yet but how long until they do it because the money is too much to ignore?

I really do wonder if the league would just throw out the titans season and give their opponents another bye week and cause the Titans to finish 3-13 with zero draft picks.

 

keep in mind that the networks are not going to be very happy with cancelling/forfeiting games

I think the game gets played, even if its a "week 18" scenario but I think the Titans are in deep shit fine and draft pick wise

 

I think you keep making them forfeit games until they have 0 COVID cases active. Which is certainly Week 5, but potentially even Week 6 if they keep popping positives.
