I’ve seen Machine Gun Kelly live twice and one of the times was on Halloween. He hosted a costume contest during the show and the top 5 costumes would get to hang with him after the show in his tour bus. He ended up just picking girls who he was seemingly having sex with (and a lot of them looked barely legal) in his tour bus (a group of folks and me waited around after to try and meet him). It grossed me out, and after seeing those tweets, I’m unfortunately not too surprised.

He acknowledged and apologised on his twitter and then privated his twitter and then deleted his account. Do you guys think that's adequate accountability for a guy that books all ages shows across the country? Just don't think it's ok to try and cover your tracks after something like that

Absolutely not, there’s nothing anyone can do to adequately account for fucking with minors. Nothing.

 

Yeah, like he used his power and influence to try and coerce pictures from a teenage girl. Totally inappropriate that he should expect to return to the scene after that

 

i honestly have no clue who machine gun kelly is but i'll never understand the mindset of someone bragging about pursuing underage/barely of age people even if twitter or the internet was 'different back then' or whatever. so fucked up

 

Accountability and restitution are ongoing things so in a sense the term "adequate" can't ever apply to them (it's too simplistic) but generally speaking, a person who has caused harm understanding that they have abused a platform and therefore must give up said platform is kinda a base level requirement to me, especially when underage humans are mistreated related to an industry that provides access to them (in this case, touring).

Yeah as an Australian who has attended MANY DAL shows, this is incredibly concerning. He needs to step down I think
