I was gonna watch pumpkin head for the first time last night but they took it off streaming :- (

I ended up watching wishmaster instead and it was so dumb but so good lol you really get your money's worth of crazy special effects (both practical and grimy cgi) so I would recommend !

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

Scare Me didn't do much from me aside from the performances, sound, and directing. I thought the message they hamfisted in the final third was undercut by the ending.

Today was both Frankenweenies, and I'd never seen the animated one. I adored it and had a ton of fun. Appreciated that it kinda gross in parts!

  5. Hush was good. Not as affecting as Doctor Sleep and Hill House, but kept my interest throughout.

Hood/Back 2 are the only ones I revisit. But I don’t know that I’d say they’re any game changing entries, but Warwick remains fun and enjoyable.

  8. I liked Gerald's Game more than i expected to. So yeah, I think at this point it's safe to say I'd be willing to watch pretty much anything Mike Flanagan does. A little sad that Carla Gugino isn't in Bly Manor, but it'll be nice to see the other familiar faces.

  9. Someone should create a horror Plex account for us all to add to and stream off of.

Started things off with Hocus Pocus, What We Do In The Shadows, Paranormal Activity 4, and Fright Night.

Paranormal Activity 4 was the only one I hadn't seen, it's definitely the worst of the series, I haven't seen Ghost Dimension yet, I imagine that could take the cake though.

I love Fright Night, it is the perfect tone for me. I always forget how great the makeup is.

Also went to put Pumpkinhead on my watch list , but ended up putting Wishmaster instead. Never seen, but can't wait.

Ghost Dimension is far and beyond the worst. I just remember the whole marketing hook being “this time you can SEE THE GHOSTS” which kinda defeats the whole point of the series

  20. As much as I admire Hush as an impressive feat of filmmaking, I would have to kindly disagree, but only because Doctor Sleep and Hill House are closer to what I look for in horror.

I went back and rewatched the last scene of The Bent-Neck Lady. This is exactly what I'm talking about, what I look for in horror: simultaneously terrifying and fascinating and heartbreaking. It's stuck with me more than anything else in the show, and for some reason I just felt the need to revisit it. Whereas when I think of the last scene of Hereditary all I feel is terror and dread (so much so that I stopped my rewatch halfway through a couple days ago), when I think of this scene from Hill House the emotion I feel most strongly is sadness. But then there's also the fascination, not just at the significance of the scene within the context of the show as a whole, but also at how the camera lingers on Nell's dangling body before cutting to a close-up of her face--and then the background shifts.

  21. Rewatched Cloverfield. I forgot how annoying TJ Miller is in this. And how early Lizzy Caplan dies. And how stupid the characters are for the sake of plot. Still a good movie from a technical standpoint, though. Kind of funny that I recognized Odette Annable from Supergirl and Jessica Lucas from Gotham, seeing as how Matt Reeves is doing the next Batman film.

I legitimately like Jason X. Granted I haven’t seen it since 8th grade.

Leprechaun In The Hood felt way longer than it needed to. That was rough.

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

Had a full day of Tim Burton with both Frankenweenies and Sleepy Hollow. Id never seen the animated FW so I think that’s going into my Halloween rotation.
