Haha I get the argument. Just doesn't bother me personally, but not ideal for your average parent or grandparent

So I'm considering buying my fiance an apple watch for her bday.

Are there really many notable differences between the Series 3 and SE other than support for cellular?

  9. SE is way more future proof imo and would be what I’d recommend.

The 4/5/SE/6 are also a significantly thinner design that also support newer bands that the older models, including the 3, do not. That alone will probably be a trend moving forward, so I'd absolutely go with the SE model.

Awesome, thanks all! I was already leaning toward the SE so I could get the pink one to kinda match her Coral XR, so that works. Just found out I have $50 in points at my job so it'll only end up costing me $30 more than the Series 3

I’ve had the SE for 3 days now and I’m absolutely loving it. I never really thought I’d want a smartwatch, but over the past couple days I realized that because I leave my phone on silent (no vibrate) 99% of the time, I only get texts when I’m actively checking my phone. So it’s new to me to actually get my notifications as they come in. Kind of a specific problem, but I’m kind of shocked how much I’m enjoying it even based on that alone.

Compared to Series 3 I feel like I definitely made the right decision based on the updated design and faster processor. My ex had a Series 3 and it’s partly what made me think I didn’t want an Apple Watch.

This is great to hear, I took the plunge and ordered it and now I'm a little jealous myself :-p.

I definitely share that specific problem with you and was the biggest game changer for me with my Galaxy watch. Even when I have my phone on vibrate, I often don't really feel it in my pocket

    Spatial audio is fucking nuts

I kept checking to see if my airpods were disconnected because the difference was so massive

Working on importing my Instapaper links into GoodLinks.

Gonna be tagging stories for some time, I think.

Not sure if someone here has what I’m looking for but I’ll ask anyway.

Basically a task tracker that can be shared with at least 1 other person and has a widget that doesn’t show the repeated tasks until it’s the exact day it needs to be done.

Reminders get the job done but not completely. So if I have a recurring task, it shows the next instance on the widget immediately. Ideally I only want it to show on the day that I need to do it.

Things 3 does this but has no share option. Ive been trying other apps in the store but no luck.

I think the key reason why GoodLinks has had my eye lately is that:

    1. The app is regularly updated, versus Instapaper, which feels like it's very rarely updated, if not abandoned.
    2. Your account is iCloud based, so linked to you/your devices, versus yet another password + point of entry for your info.
    3. This one is really minor, buuuuuut I think GoodLinks looks/feels more like it matches native iOS design language.
    4. Goodlinks has a native macOS app, Instapaper does not.

so if y’all were buying an iPad rn which would you get? The most intensive thing I would use it for is to mess around with music apps.

was thinking about maybe grabbing last years Pro

  23. I'd get the new Air, but last year's Pro is great too.

the new air looks like they took last years 11 Pro and put a lesser chip in it. is that what y’all think?
