It's odd, it's as though the campaign is more concerned with not betraying the far right than trying to compromise and gain more centrists. I can't see any long game strategy in this working in favor of Trump or the gop.

  3. Because he's an idiot. He really believes his views, and his views alone, are the majority opinion.

  6. I've had Kaiser insurance since before I was born - it's ideal if you aren't that sick, or if you have one of their better plans. The only issue I have with them is the ungodly number of layers their bureaucracy has. My 2.5 decades with them is best summed up this way - "It was the best of times. It was the worst of times."

  9. Honestly not surprised if he starts a media company/website/tv station/whatever.

it definitely seems like thats the new end goal since the presidency is borderline impossible for him to attain

Now that seems like a very realistic end goal. He's reined in millions of people he can exploit. And it's even more favorable and profitable if he loses..

It's like the Ben Carson "run for president to promote to your book" thing on a larger scale.

I mean, historically, populism occurs in times of crisis across various spaces of cultural and economic life. On both ends of the spectrum, the effort is to polarize the center, then get a large contingent of the public on their side, including elites within the subaltern population. Trump has not done this. But, the movement, I suspect, will continue on without him and will find its expression elsewhere within the Republican Party. The next nominee may be the fulfillment of this in a way that actually works. The democrats under Clinton actually look like an ideal successor for the Republican Party of yesteryear, so maybe that's the sort of realignment we will see.

I think they just meant "getting our country back from black and brown people. We have ideas about what to do with them, along with gay and trans folks. The best ideas since Jim Crow."

My dad did his cancer treatments there about 7 years ago and it wasn't too difficult; I mean he didn't have to pay anything above and beyond the cost of the premium, and he even got medical marijuana prescribed instead of pain meds.

  20. How the media portrays white guys that do awful stuff...

Is it their culture of cannibal-like violence that made him this way?

Nice to see that a white kid who's killed two people, stabbed another, and is literally eating a face gets to fight off a taser, K9, and four officers without a weapon being drawn on him.

Pretty stark contrast to the black guy who was performing CPR on a person and ended up getting shot for it.
