the athletic needs a widget like you have for News!

No doubt. Ideally, that'll end up being a large sports scores/news widget. Athletic is easily the best app design imo, so hopefully they do it at some point.

  3. this might sound dumb but have you checked that you are signed in or have you tried signing out and signing back in?

I really want to be able to make a "primary" app in a widget stack. So for example, I always want Fitness shown on top of my Fitness/Weight Shortcut/Bloods Pressure Shortcut stack at all times, unless I want to specifically access those two shortcuts. Then when I lock my phone after logging weight or BP, I want it to automatically default back to Fitness on top of that stack.

Smart stacks make sense to rotate as they will, but if I don't want them to rotate automatically, it would make so much sense to have a primary option in a stack.

idk if they'll make them but i'd love to have an uber/lyft widget stack readily available.

    They'd be crazy not to.

This is where widgets for me will shine, when they can be grouped together based on category. AND when the stack name can be edited to be that category vs whatever app is displayed at the time. As in, Uber/Lyft in a "Rideshare" stack.

i feel like, the future of my phone won't be app screens, just smart stacks of widgets hah.

Yup I am. Library is all accurate (except stuff I’ve added today), and I can still search/stream through the “browse” option

Remember when you’re talking about widgets that they refresh every 5 minutes so don't depend on them for anything you need up to the minute info on yet.

After working at the Geek Squad for a year or two, I realized there is no such thing as a dumb question you can ask a customer when providing tech support. That being said, yeah, I am signed in. I always use signing out/signing in as a last resort because it messes with the playlist views I have setup (I know, dumb reason).

On my end, everything seems back to normal? I just had an hour or so of work calls, opened iTunes back up, and have yet to see the orange exclamation point of death.

So the reason my battery is dying so fast is because my phone is redownloading 42,000 photos after the update. Got it

Anyone know if it's possible to use widget shortcuts for Google Home functionality ("Turn off bedroom lights", etc.)?

Don't have an iPhone yet but curious what I can potentially get away with in my current smart home setup

  18. MyNetDiary widget update is exactly what I wanted. :folded::muscle:

  19. The Google Assisant app has Shortcut support. So probably. If your light setup is Homekit enabled however, it's even easier and yes you can (I do itin quite a few shortcuts). Homekit is also built into the new Control Center (bottom):

I wish I could get myself into homekit but all my stuff is too old

Once you get into HomeKit stuff, it’s pretty awesome. Pretty much all of my rooms are HomeKit ready as far as lighting, and my computer area (Hue Play Bars and Nanoleaf) is all HomeKit controllable as well. Obviously you run into the rare snag here and there but it’s shockingly solid and reactive 99.9% of the time.

You can make little custom widgets for various things. Added a favorite photos widget into the stack where my calendar is on the homepage, so when the day is done I can flip the calendar to show my favorite photos, and Things to show my food intake for the day so I know what I can snack on.

And then added a simple step counter into the "fitness" stack on the second page:

  24. Yep, hard to go back once you've got the homekit/automation stuff set up. If we ever moved I'd need to do it again.

  25. Same.

Soor does it, but I don't wanna use a different app.
