I’m all in on a new Apple TV if it comes with a new remote. I know not everyone has issues with theirs, and that’s great, but the current one just isn’t for me.

 

My series 2 is sloooooooooooooooow as hell so i can only imagine your series 1. Definitely upgrading this fall.

 

I've been on it since the first public beta and it's really stable so you should be fine.

 

I bought a cover for it the other week and it's helped out tremendously with my main source of hatred for it (not knowing which side is up when just reaching and not looking at it, and just losing it so often being small/black).

That’s smart. Never even thought of something like that, but I can definitely imagine how that would improve things. Unfortunately, I’m not crazy about the touchpad as a whole and would prefer a simplified, more standard style remote with the next one.

more often than not, my crippling laziness resorts to using the phone as the remote since thats usually closer to me than the actual remote haha, it works great, idk if you've ever given that a go.

That’s actually not as stupid as I expected...

I guess there is an injunction on these for copyright infringement against airpods which actually does bar their import until the patent dispute is resolved. Still dumb the way they announced it like that lol

Try cleaning the contacts on your pros and the case. Could be some dirt causing it to not connect right
