They don’t charge your card until it ships. Much like Amazon as well.

So Nexomon patched the game because people were upset with how unfair it was, especially early game and they responded with "we made it a but more balanced and not as harsh, etc, but we want this to remain a challenging game."

But honestly, it's not that it's challenging, it's that it's frustrating. They do so many things right, but do such a shit job at making it feel worth it to level up any of your monsters because you never feel like you're getting more powerful at all. And I don't mean like I want to beat the hell out of my opponents, it's just like every wild Nexomon seems to be such a pain and then I have to waste my healing items and then grind for money or spend all of it on healing.

I really don't like games where enemies in the world scale with you. It takes away a lot of dynamic elements to the game. It makes leveling up essentially pointless. If a level 4 monster is the same as a level 45 monster to fight then you haven't developed a good system.

I think it was Xenoblade or something, idk, but there was a game where open areas had all different levels of enemies and it led to you being more strategic about how you approach enemies. Go for the small ones and grind? Or your own level and kind of duke it out or a big challenge with a big reward for the strongest enemies.

Like I said, I enjoy the game and like the designs of the creatures and such, but the leveling up system and wild system feels awful to me.

Ugh I'm gonna be upset if Amazon is unable to fulfill my Mario 3D All Stars game. Still says it's expected to arrive on launch date and I see it's now out of stock on there.

Surprisingly, I could have sworn I saw it out of stock on Target and Gamestop the other day, and now they're available for preorder again. Seems weird if other companies are having to cancel orders for other people

Yea, that’s all very fair. I like that they didn’t make it as easy but it just seems like they tried way too hard to the point where it gets frustrating. If you’re gonna try to use Pokémon stuff how do you not use exp. share or a similar way of leveling up? It just takes forever.

Well, that's part of why I hate the fact everything levels up with you because it means ANY of the older monsters you caught can't even attempt to fight because they're immediately underleveled so I have to either give up on them, recatch them or do the stupid "put them in the first slot and then immediately switch them out in battle" tactic which takes so so long.

Yea, it’s really archaic. I love that they make their first game on a platform and are already arguing with people who enjoy it but have real criticisms. I guess there were too many participation trophies in modern Pokémon games for them lol I know you can get those experience cores but I don’t know how effective they are and they’re just really hard to come by.

I’m just realizing that I have so many mega rare nexomon I want to use and level up but it’ll take a billion years for that to happen haha

Well, so I have a bunch of the EXP cores and then the individual XP boosters that you attach to the monsters, but then I still have to grind out the mining to get the shards, make the cores, attach them to the monsters, swap them out at the beginning of each battle, grind until they are leveled up and then take off the cores or leave them on depending if I want them to be on my team, then rinse and repeat with each monster.

It's a tedious and painful process. The developers didn't know how to make a game legitimately challenging so they settled for the illusion of challenge instead and are sticking to their guns because they think their vision is more important than people actually liking their game.

Wow, I haven’t even gotten to that part or maybe I am and just don’t realize it, haven’t given my nexomon anything yet. That seems like.... a process. It’s also possible that they just don’t know how to tweak it without completely changing some things.

I definitely think, especially with the last iteration of Pokémon that it was wayyyy too easy but this is just making something hard to make it hard. Hopefully there are some changes in their development team so this game actually does improve eventually, unless this is just a passion project and they don’t care about actual success.

Switcher update download taking the longest damn time. I guess it makes sense the game improved a bunch after the patch

Finally jumping back into New Super Mario Bros U. Such a well crafted 2D platformer. This, and Rayman Legends are GOAT.

It would be nice if we get a New Super Mario Bros. collection at some point, but that would probably make it too obvious how similar they are.

Started Ni No Kuni today, and my goodness is it slow. I'm not even mad though. The animations are so nice to look at, and the characters are pretty interesting so far. Still haven't done a lot of actual gameplay, though.

It is VERY slow and has honestly kept me from getting into it the two or three times I've tried to play it.

As good as Tropical Freeze was, I still want a new 3D DK game. I know 64 doesn’t hold up as well as classics from the era, but I’d love to see what they’d do with it nowadays
