i've always noticed that and wonder why you rarely / never? hear of a member of a mathcore band or a bedroom pop artist (+ many other genres) assaulting someone but it's so common in pop punk or whatever. maybe because pop punk bands have the least talented musicians and they just want to be in a band to get girls? why do you think that is? unfortunately it's interesting to think about.

I mean, this isn't the case with all pop punk bands. Like I mentioned above I think it largely relates to the culture that came out of Warped Tour and the fact that men who are abusers/accused of any sort of misconduct can be given multiple chances (Front Porch Step, Makeout, Ronnie Radke, With Confidence, A Day To Remember, etc.) and them not face any real consequences for their actions.

  3. Absolutely. I should have been a bit clearer, it wasn't my intention to blame any genre specifically. A culture of no consequences surrounding any genre can lead to more instances of misconduct.

Your first mistake there was positing a Kiwi Farms spinoff that takes its formatting from 4chan and calls people snowflakes. Good lord the internet is a cesspool.

If no good new bellwether is a problem then don't forget to cancel the story so far since Parker cannon has BEEN working with Harry Corrigan and just dropped a side project NO PRESSURE with him. Slash he's in REGULATE that regularly tours and even has toured globally. Just saying
Oh and don't forget all of ecc. Which has quiet the support from bands like seaway and Themovielife

can't quite tell if you're being facetious here, but people BEEN criticizing Parker Cannon for years. we've already brought up Parker working with Harry in this very thread. your use of "just saying" makes me think you're feigning concern at best.

  12. Rape/abuse allegations against Alex Fitzpatrick of Holy Roar Records, a UK alternative/heavy music label, one I've personally supported for years. Safe to say I won't be giving them another cent while he remains involved with them.

Not going to lie I think it's a bit weird sometimes that this thread inherently conflates "talking about pervasive misogyny and sexual assault within the music scene" with "a musician I like has a questionable opinion"

i mean, 'accountability' as a whole is a far broader umbrella than specifically dealing with sexual assault and misogyny. this conversation has been had/attempted to be had several times in the past, if this thread should solely be used for that one purpose or discussion point, the title of the thread should change.

I think being a 9/11 conspiracy theorist is more than just a "questionable opinion".

  21. Nothing announce new album 'The Great Dismal,' share "Say Less"
The album was produced by Will Yip and it features Alex G, Mary Lattimore, and Shelley Weiss.

Saw this today while gathering news to post and searching this thread shows a few people saying "fuck Nothing" and I was trying to remember what the story is with them. Anyone remember?

It involves transphobic tweets from Nothing/Whirr member Nick Bassett.

I agree with both of the above posts. Idk where else talking about Green's Tweet's would go outside of the

    EDIT:
To make it more clear, Nick Bassett mentioned above was in both bands. Not sure if he's in Nothing anymore
