My first distortion pedal was the DOD Grunge pedal I inherited from my brother. I loved it at the time but now I'm watching youtube videos about it and realize it was just super gain-y so of course it made me sound awesome when I was 13 lol

I also had that same grunge pedal, a small stone, and a boss ds1. I was all in on Nirvana.

I have someone building me a DRV. Should get it in a week or so. Pretty excited to give it a try.

Feel like I may go to a local spot and try a Hudson Broadcast, might let that be my fuzzy tone....

Any looper experts on this thread? I'm in the market and leaning towards a Boss RC-30.

Its dual track with 99 memory slots. Has some built-in effect (not sure how useful they are) but I like the 2 pedal design and REALLY like that it has built-in drum beats. This makes it a powerful practice tool imo which is what i will be primarily using it for.

From what I've played the Boss ones are great. I have the RC-2 and love it. Even my RC-2 came with drumbeats built in which is really useful. The Ditto series is also great. I love loopers, so much fun to just mess around with.

Been using an EHX 720 Looper for a couple years now. Can record 10 loops, has a dedicated stop foot switch (hugely important on any looper), half speed and reverse effects onboard, programmable dials that let you skim through any of your loops and also indicates visually on the display where in the loop you’re currently at (think like skipping through a YouTube video), playback control that allows you to dictate how fast the loop will stop once you hit the stop switch (you can set it to slowly fade out over say, a full playback of your loop or 10 seconds etc), and just it’s mental simple to use. And some hidden options about how you route it all if you want to deep dive. Dittos are good, but the foot switches on TC pedals have always felt cheap and prone to breaking. Just my two cents. I don’t think it’s all that expensive either.

Every time I watch a video of someone playing a Chase Bliss Audio MOOD I want one...more than of their pedals, I feel like it would be incredibly awesome to play around with.

I still don’t get what I’m doing all the time but it’s an instrument in itself. Fucking best purchase in a long, long time. Lose hours messing around with it.

  16. I built a recording pedal board on a cookie sheet a couple days ago, haha.

My biggest worry with it (and alot of their stuff) is I'll find a sound or write something and not be able to reproduce it haha. I feel like I just need to bite the bullet and give it a shot. Their pedals hold value so it's a safe purchase.

I'm looking to add a bigger delay to my board (replacing the Red Panda Particle which I never use) and I think I've narrowed in on the Source Audio Nemesis. I really really want presets haha.

I mean, there’s presets. I think if there’s something you like the sound of to go about it that way, and record whatever it is into a loop. I know a lot of people using it for live spatial effects in a more traditional sense - but it absolutely shines as its own instrument.

Ive wanted the Nemesis for a minute. It seems like the best multi delay out there by fair bit. The “resonant analog” algorithm sounds like heaven.

That's a very good point. I know could throw a midi-switcher on the board and use that. Man....I may have to get this haha.
Yeah, seems like it hits all the boxes I need and more! Price is great too compared to similar delays.

Think I'm going to sell my Red Panda Particle and get Nemsis or MOOD. Or both...hm

consider just getting a looper with a speed control and reverse then pairing it with a reverb instead of the Mood

I actually got a RC-2 recently that I haven't fully played with. I think I need to do some experimenting with it, will probably get more 70% there.

DRV clone came today. VERY impressed by the sound of this pedal...
