I’m pretty sure Mark said it was because he wrote the song out of his vocal range and it just fit better with Tom singing it. He really had to strain his voice singing it for the album. I’m not sure if he ever sang the chorus live. The earliest recorded concert from January 1997 (6 months before Dude Ranch is released) Tom is singing the chorus.

It’s too bad they never recorded it with Tom singing the chorus.

He sang it when +44 would perform it.

Mark just tagged Tom & Travis in a DED instagram story post, probably doesn’t mean anything but always like to see it

I hope it means they are going to start selling those DED slipmats.

The Italian Blink fan twitter account posted that there were a TON of new updates that Mark gave fans in his Discord channel yesterday. I just read through it all though and the only real info there is that they've "considered" releasing the Untitled demos for the album's anniversary in a couple years.

If you want to see all of the info though, here's a link.

Actually, another kinda cool thing Mark mentioned was that the snare drum Travis used to record "Adam's Song" is the same one Guns N Roses used to record "November Rain." Haha.

I’ll finally buy the album on vinyl if they release an Untitled anniversary version on vinyl with the demos lol.

Definitely a slipmat. Their merch store sent these out for free to people who had issues with their DED orders.

Has anyone listened to Mark's apple radio show? I listened to him interview Tony Hawk and that was dope. He also told a funny story before he played an Aracade Fire song about how Tom was so stoked on Arcade Fire when funeral was coming out.

Tom had a great taste for music in the early aughts. I remember he was also big on Bloc Party's Silent Alarm and Tegan & Sara's The Con.

Not getting myself excited for Untitled demos. There seems to be no urgency in releasing old stuff like that for whatever reason.

  13. Exactly. It seems like Mark doesn't give a shit about demos being released. He also said recently that there's one unreleased +44 song, but doesn't seem like that'll ever see the light of day either. But he said that song isn't good, which makes it even more unlikely to ever come out.

Since they were pretty much just recording Untitled as they went, I can't imagine that the demos would be different enough to really be that exciting. But who knows, I guess.

Didn’t they record a bunch of stuff in the house before they headed into the studio with Jerry or was Jerry there the whole 9 or 10 months with them?

I agree there probably isn’t anything too different (I’m thinking it’s similar to the Enema demos) but would still love to hear the early versions of those songs even if it’s a few changed lyrics here and there.

  15. I'm pretty sure Jerry was there in the house with them too. Maybe not the entire time, but at least some of the time, according to the MTV Album Launch episode. It shows Jerry a few times in the house.

I need to rewatch that show again. I remember the last time I watched it Tom had different lyrics for Asthenia. I think @David Parke said he heard that originally the verses were switched in I Miss You with Tom starting the song with “Where are you”. They played the riff for Up All Night so there could be some really fun stuff recorded.

I believe he/they were listening to a lot of Alkaline Trio as well. The FHTI and Good Mourning influences definitely seem to be there

  22. gahhhh someone's gotta rip that whole twitch stream. i'd love to watch and listen to his commentary throughout the entire thing

Truly an album that would not get made today with a budget like that.
