The Video Association of Dallas / Dallas Video Fest does a weekly zoom meeting every Wednesday where they discuss a different film. Tonight, they are discussing "Disclosure: Trans Lives on Screen" and the director, Sam Feder will be in attendance answering questions and talking about the film.

The movie can be seen on Netflix and the call will be at 7:30pm central time.

If anyone is interested in participating, shoot me a PM and I'll hook you up with the Zoom link. The discussions are usually pretty good/informative and last about an hour.

Fuck yeah, I’ve been obsessed with this film ever since I bought the Criterion Blu-ray back in July & rewatched it. Love seeing it getting the love it deserves, especially from Caan

 

I've never heard of Thief before now. I'm intrigued though, so I'm gonna try to watch it this weekend. And maybe Heat as well, since I've also never seen that one.

 

So you’ve never seen anything from Michael Mann before? I’d say those two films are definitely rock solid jumping off points

 

Oh man, you’re in for a treat. I ran through most of Mann’s films a few years back and loved them. Thief is one of the best looking movies ever

Start with Mann’s first, which is Thief.
Keep an eye out for a key explosion at the end, it’s one of the most gorgeous things I’ve ever seen on film

 

The Insider owns hard. Thief and Heat are all-time. I love Collateral.
