The world: “Joe biden has a history of racist behavior in his politics.”

david: *pushes up glasses* “well actually it was the 80’s so everyone was calling Jesse jackson ‘boy’ when he ran for president and in the 70’s it was popular to not was to integrate busing.”

Not speaking to the Nancy situation because I don't care, but regulations in CA vary widely from city to city, county to county. Speaking as someone who has to disseminate this information throughout a company with locations spread throughout the state, it is confusing for people.

It can be all of the above. It can be a political hit job set up AND she is irresponsible for not knowing the protocols and allowing the right to latch onto another dumb story talking point.

Yes, indeed, and....I've said as much. I said it is both.

It's others here that are only concentrating on one of those things though and getting mad that I and a few other didn't do the same:crylaugh:

Michigan is broken up into like 8 regions and for months had different regulations regarding bars/restaurants and I was able to keep on top of all the regulations and I’m not a paid public official that’s supposed to lead by example. “The rules are confusing” maybe she shouldn’t be in politics if she can’t keep up.

Yeah our state is small so everything is mostly uniform throughout the state, BUT some municipalities have toyed with putting stricter regulations in place beyond what the state has done, especially the town where UD is located. Apparently they went super strict in recent weeks with gathering size and indoor restaurant seating.

for sure, but again, she's the speaker of the house lol, she doesn't have a single excuse

The Speaker of the House should be held to a higher standard than the average citizen

No people are mad in here at you for allowing the Dems to be held to a bar that is below the bare minimum of not getting your hair done during a global pandemic that is raging in our country hotter than anywhere else in the world. Making excuses like “it’s tough to keep up with protocols” just continues to hold centerist Dems to basically no standard at all. It’s like one of your students not following the instructions on an assignment. The rules are laid out there, follow em. Not hard.

  12. I'm the most online person in the world and read the actual press releases from the Governor and can't tell you the different rules and regulations in Portland or the surrounding counties. They change and are inconsistent almost daily, social media tweets that have nothing to do with what's actually supposed to be enforced. What can be open where, it's a nightmare. I had to call like three places to figure out what the fuck the rules were for a funeral.

This entire argument is so stupid.

nancy drafts, reviews, and votes on federal legislation that can be 10x more complicated than a public health order there is literally no excuse for her at all

If she was so confused by the rules and regulations she can literally just dial up Gov. Newsom for some clarity. You shouldn't, as one of the most visible politicians for the Dems, put yourself in this position lol

also violating the public health order is only half the problem, the other half is being dumb enough to either not see or not care about the perception of what she did and how it would play into the media and republicans hands like god damn

  17. I've decided everyone just really misses dunking on Hillary. I can't believe this is still something being discussed. :crylaugh:

still waiting for people to point out if what Nancy did was actually illegal and not just like, a really poor choice of how to spend her time that shows a big disconnect with the struggles most Americans are going through

  19. Hey, better than Hunter Biden being in the news again I guess.

I hate Pelosi as much as anyone but this is nothing next to the countless crimes committed by the current administration that just, pile up and get forgotten about. Their ability to manipulate the conversation in bad faith is effective and directly responsible for covering up atrocities, of which there are so so many that are always worse than the latest bullshit they’re pushing.

What bar am I holding (or not holding) her to? I personally don't think anybody should be out getting their hair done right now, and I think people that do so are stupid. I haven't had a haircut since January. But yeah I am going to point out that if she called them, and they said to come in, her assuming it is legal to do it isn't some crazy conspiracy and is probably the most likely thing that happened. And that is very, very upsetting to a lot of folks here because...reasons? She's a neolib I guess?

I, frankly, don't give a shit if she's forced to step down and leave politics forever because of it. It's just easy to see all the ways in which this isn't Evil Nancy Pelosi once again flouting the law and having no standards and pointing out "oh, well this seems kind of shady and like it's a set up" was...well, not something I saw throwing all the lefties that hate Pelosi into some sort of tizzy here. But, hey, this is also the group that let their grudge against Joe Kennedy for trying to primary one of the good ones turn him into the next coming of Joe Manchin so, I guess I shouldn't be surprised lol.

Also, directions and questions not being clear in their intentions is pretty much a fact of life for teachers. Every year means constant tweaks to the way you are stating directions or asking a question on a test because every year some student doesn't get it and shows you where you need to be more clear. So not the best example there hah

Completely agreed, and that's why she should know better than to give them this ammo. Yeah, it sucks Democrats are held to a higher standard, but that's not changing anytime soon. Although, as Jason pointed out, this is better than Hunter Biden shit

i mean dunking is one thing, sure, but when you're the leader of the party advocating for beliving in the seriousness of this virus and the effects of the pandemic on people's health, livelihood, and economy, for people to wear masks and stay at home, and arguing for benefits and funds to go to pandemic response and relief to businesses and people and you go out and violate all of that who is that helping and how does that help your party and your case if people see you doing what you're telling them not to? No excuse.
